On the plateau, which you should go up with a cable car from the city park entrance, there is a pretty good restaurant, worth visiting. To go down you don't have to make it on time for the cable car, you can just order a taxi, which will take you for 2 Lari to every place in the town.
The restaurant is open until the end of September.

Near the post office, a little bit inside, not the one on the road. This is a local restaurant, the waitresses don't speak any known language, but the food is really great and the prices are really low, much better than the ones recommended in lonely planet.

Helpfulness
The restaurant is located in the beautifull renovated station building. You can dine at the platform next to the railtracks.
Favorite Dish: Their cheesbread is great and mushrooms with garlic are delightful.
