    The bee houses shown on the photo are modern ones but it is very likely that the Ikalto Academy taught also the art of honey making or better the art of taking care of bees. Given the environment of the complex, bees had plenty of nectar to gather !

    Outside of the complex a series of half a dozen very rustic booth stand empty. Elsewhere, they might be designed to sell craft to tourist during the high season. In this remote part of Georgian I doubt that there are enough tourists to need 6 booth. They are more likely to be used when there are religious gatherings in Ikalto.
