If you go to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), just 10 km from the border of Russia, and have ever wanted to paraglide, here is your chance! Get a hold of Fly Kazbegi ahead of time and cross your fingers for favorable weather. They cannot set a schedule because it all depends on the updrafts on the day that you are there.

When the conditions are good, they'll take you out to the take-off site, they'll carry the canopy (parachute) up the hill, you'll get strapped to your pilot, then they'll help the canopy catch the wind and the two of you will run a few steps down the hill before the updraft lifts you off your feet and into the wild blue yonder. Your flight could be 30 minutes or even an hour and you may go a mile high! (Be prepared to shell out about 300 GEL.)

Equipment: They will provide all the equipment you will need. Just wear warm clothes, at least jeans and hiking boots, and bring gloves if you have them. It's much colder high in the air. They have a digital video camera and will make a video of your experience. They can pick you up at the hotel or bus stop in Kazbegi and drop you off there too. They speak Russian, English and Georgian.

Horseriding in Kazbegi is one of the best activities. Should you dare, try to ride up to Tsminda Sameba, on the plateau and over the peaks around the plateau, it must be a unique experience.
