The taxis around the city usually cost between 3 and 5 Lari. Usually there will be no meter in the Taxi. You will need to bargain the price.

Don't forget to mention you're a student (if you look like one) to get student discounts on bus fares. The discounts can be quite substantial.

There is a good underground system in Tbilisi, but there is not one sign with latin letters which makes it rather difficult to use for a foreigner.
