It was the only medieval city wall I saw in my Iran trip. Maybe therefore it seemed very interesting for me. It has not preserved very well, but it's still impressive. There is an old ice-house just next to the wall.
Once this was the house of Kashan's governor Agha Ameri. The house is really big. At first I entered the first courtyard and it seemed that this is all the house, but then I entered another and another one. The house is almost completely restorated. The rooms ar very nice form inside, but the most beautiful were the courtyards with plants and pools. In one of the rooms you can see pictures of the house how it looked before beginning of restoration.
The highlight of Kashan is a visit to the merchants homes. The merchants home are gorgeous and take a half day to really appreciate. They have beautiful fountains and the homes are well done. I recommend spending at least half a day in and around the homes because there are no tourists and the buildings are photogenic making for some great shots!
Shade and running water
Outside Kashan lie Bagh-e-Fin, a delightfull garden surrounding a small palace. The park have alleyways with huge trees. Beneath them there are channels with running water and pools. Running water has allways been an obsesson in the persian culture. It was their way of showing wealth. In a desertregion this way of measuring wealth can be easily understood. Fin are not the most spectacular garden in the country, but for whiling away the hotest part of the day in Kashan this is the place. In Fin village you will see some examples of the traditional houses with smal claydomes on the roof. Some are in rouine, others are in use for different purposes.
The great palaces
In kashan three old palacelike houses has ben, or are being restored to their former grandour. All three are like hiden gems, exept from the doorway, from the street there is no sign of what treasure hidden behind the walls. All hoiuses have big courtyrds with water, a range of rooms, corridors and steos and are richly decorated. Some are almost the same in all three houses, but each has its own feature to look after. In Khan-e-Abasin, for example, it is the stained windows, and there is a balconyroof with mirroring glass looking like big, sparkling diamonds.

Ghalishuyan in Ardehal
Ardehal is Outside Kashan and is known for two things. First: Sohrab Sepehry A famous Poet of 20th century is burried there. Second: a religious carpet washing ceremony is held there every year on the second Friday of fall.
Fin is so close to Kashan that can really be considered as a part of it. It is Famous for the Garden And the bath in it.
Fin garden and bath is known to most Iranians as the place where Mirza Taqi-Khan Amir Kabir, the Prime Minister of Naaser-Al- Deen Shah Ghajar from Ghajar dynasty, was murdered. Amir kabir is still loved by many Iranians. He was the prime minister of Iran for almost 3 years and then was dissmissed and sent to Fin where he was killed following the Shah's order.
