All around Kish Island, along the sea, there is a bicycle route, over 50 km long. Before coming to Kish I had hoped to have the time to cycle, at least part of the route, but while I was there it was absolutely to hot and humid, and not the bicycle season. I noticed in Saffein and by the Greek Ship the route was broken and construction was going on. Maybe the route will be complete again when the cooler months comes. I didn’t rent a bike, but have read that it cost IR 10 000 per hour.
The hour before sunset I took a walk from Saffein along the route and noticed that several women did the same.
The first day I arrived to Kish I went to the Diving Centre to ask about the diving, and to my disappointment they were not able to dive that day because of to much wind. I was told that sometimes they have ten calm days with very clear water and then there can be a rough sea for seven, or a few days, giving bad visibility. The next day there was no diving in the morning, but in the afternoon.
The diving centre has got a speedboat taking the divers to the reef. The next day I made two dives. Every dive we made at the same sight, Big Corals. It is not too far from the diving centre and it is an easy dive, max 6 metres depth. The first dive there was a man doing his last OW-dive and the other day there were people trying to dive for the first time. The last dive I and the man who the previous day took his OW were sent diving alone.
Because of the weather the last days the visibility was not so good. At Big Corals there are a lot of nice table corals and other hard corals. I saw many box fishes and surgeon fishes, two Picasso trigger fishes, two morays, two anemonfishes (only) and a lot more.
In the end of June when I dived the water was very warm and we dived with bodysuits, at least the women. Women have to wear suits with long legs and sleeves. From the diving centre to the boat and a bit out from the shore women also have to wear a coat with hood. Try to change as late as possible, as it gets very hot waiting (and that you best do in the air-conditioned office).
In the changing room there are lookers where you can put your things. There are also showers, but not always water.
One dive with full equipment was IR 250 000 (June2006).
