Namak Abroud is an amusingt & athletic complex with an area of 650 hectares is located 12 km out of Chaloos(north of Iran) between Caspian sea and Alborz mountain range.
You can ride from Tehran in 4 or 5 hours to the north passing the nice and panoramic Tehran-Chaloos road and it’s parkways.
the natural forests on the northern part are so amusing and you can use 2 different cable car lines to pass through them to the foggy and mysterious tops. these are the highest cable cars in Iran(with more than 1200 m high).
There you can enjoy playing tennis, cycling, skating, power hang gliding & sky walking, and also flying in 2 passenger planes over forests with panoramic view of Caspian sea. there is also a woodland train, paintball area, karting, lona park ,with many restaurants ,cafés ,traditional shoppings ,hand crafts, Persian carpet and leather, and water recreations.
There are many hotels, motels, and holiday homes and also camping areas for stay too.
Don’t miss traditional Shisha(smoking hookah) on top of the foggy-rainy forests under the forestal bowers.
The mighty Caspian sea.... Darya -ye -Khazar.

After 3 and a half hours and 20 tunnels we finally saw the Caspian and swam at a rocky beach.
Then we visited a teleferic with 600 m to the mountains.
CHALUS AND NOWSHAR are two twin cities . I confess I couldnt distinguish them. The caspian coast is undeveloped , good to visit , but some great apartments are being built there.
I visited in June, 2009.
Warm clothes are recommended even in summer , it's cool at nights. have your special medical supplies with you however ordinary medication is available in the region. bring your photo equipment with you there is too many natural sites worth for taking a photo the region is half an hour away from the beach and there is nice mountains covered...more
