To give you some idea of how expensive Persian carpets can be, the initial asking price for this small Qom carpet was $1,600. Of course, you don't pay the asking price, but the dealer really wasn't prepared to come down very much. It is beautiful though, isn't it?

Tandis center is a shopping mall for shoppers who are looking for good quality products. you can find the best marks here. like Dior, Espirit, Levi’s, Zolo, Zara, dunhill and etc. It has All kinds of Textile products, Shoes, Baby stuff, home furniture, and anything you'll need. It also has good restaurants, fast food and cofee shops. Its open from 9 a.m to 10 p.m every day.

Just down the road from Issatiss Mall, in northern Tehran, there's a little shop selling interesting local sweets and even more interesting nuts... all types of nuts, actually.

What to buy: We bough some pistachios - in particular our favourite - which are the lemon-flavoured ones. But there were really all sorts of nuts on sale - even mixed ones, in case you could not pick a particular sort.

What to pay: very little

We found Issatiss mall to be a most beautiful mall, especially for its decor and architecture. Outside it's all covered in mosaic-like blue tiles, while inside it's full of chandeliers and fancy shops.

What to buy: The best thing to buy is fancy clothes - you can find all sorts of top designer brands, there. I was not really looking for anything, except a last-minute present for a friend - so I forgot to check the prices... but i guess they would have been cheaper than in Europe. There's a small shop selling stationery inside, and it's a good place to pick up the last decorated plates and vases (Isfahan style) before flying home.

Vanak Shopping center is a big center for buy women's clothes and men , it is a street near Vanak Sq and in Vanak street is many shoping and some Passage for buy , Vanak center is near north of tehran and it is expensive but for see is a good and nice place .

Shopping in Tehran ranges from small, classy boutiques (I bought a manteau in one of those – great service and not unlike a boutique you would find in Paris), stalls in the bazaar or huge shopping malls such as this one pictured. It was modern and fresh, with all the latest fashions for men and women. The prices of course will vary according to where you shop, and there is something for every budget.

There are some souvenir shops about, but I only saw a handful situated in the area around the hotels.

A tipical bazaar , Tajrishe is a charmming place where I always can have a little homesickness thinking about it. In this bazaar , all varieties of shops and groceries can be found , the prices are all fare for everything, and sometimes can be even negotiable! Each little and big shop is tipical and can have a special something for itself. Overally it is so cousy to walk aroud , and just look.

You can notice the bazaar from the colorful fruit shops, you walk inside and you see the space gets wider , with all fresh fruits and vegetables around this corner. If you continue walking at your left you see narrow allies ending to Ghaem Shopping centre.
The bazzar and the shopping centre are open all the week early in the morning till at least 10 pm and the Fridays until 2 pm.

What to buy: Everything...From cloths and cushions to food and fresh fruits . All and all , so colourful and fantastic.

What to pay: Everything has its own relative price, and even you can discuss the prices. For those who think Tavazo is the best to buy nuts and spices, I do insist that it is not! And all you see in Tavazo can be found in little groceries in Tajrish for a much less price!
For example in -1 underground floor in Ghaem shopping center (which is almost attached to the bazaar) , in Aubedi grocery shop you can buy a 6gr high quality saffron for about 12€ (until now as saffron gets more and more expensive each day) while in Tavazo it is 18€!
The fresh pistaches in another grocery just beside.

A treasure trove of antiques and curiosities, Moses Baba's shop has been a Tehran institution for 50 years. A fossickers delight.

Moses is an elderly member of Tehran's small Jewish community - the descendents of the Hebrews who were freed from their Babylonian captivity by the Persian Emperor Cyrus at the behest of his queen, Esther - herself a Jew - in 539BC. He loves to talk to visitors to his shop and MrL always make a point of calling in when he's in the city - and usually brings some treasure home with him.

What to buy: Pottery and porcelain, elegant lacquer work, coins, jewellery, enamels and much, much more - the choice is yours.
