BUS Tehran to Bandar Abbas:
This bus ride costs 10000Rials (1 euro) and takes 22 hours. Usually fot his big trips buses are very good quality ones, the same we have in europe.
People are just great as they try their best to be nice to you and make you enjoy the trip as it can get a bit tyring for som many hours inside a bus. We had many stops until we actually arrived in Bandar Abbas. I remember my self changing place to stand aside the driver as he invited me to talk to him, no Farsi cos i dont know, no english cos he didnt know, but a bit of arabic known just a little bit by both.
The bus left 9am from Tehran and got to Bandar Ebas 7am.

This transportation in Iran is one of the fastes and fights back the intense car traffic in the cities as you can get to places faster ust paying a bit more than the normal taxi. These guys will pass everthing speeding so grab on yourself really tight to the driver.
The normal price for a short trip in the city will cost you from 5000Rials up to 20000 if you make 10km for example. I went from centre teehran to the bus terminal 10km away and had to pay 20000. For sure Tourist price but 2 euros for this trip was very cheap. Its also the most amazing transpotation adventure you can have while in Iran, please dont miss it!

Tehran is very easy to travel around. Altough this city is huge you can easily get around with its easy to fint easy to get taxis and buses. Taxis usually cost around 2500Rials for a single trip, and public buses cost around 500Rials up to 1000Rials if you're heading the city outskirts.
Subway is also a very easy to use transportation and can easily and efectively take you from one part of the city to another just paying 1000Rials.

There is a good metro system in Tehran, which has a website at www.tehranmetro.com . Unfortunately it doesn’t go all the way to north Tehran so to get there you’ll have to take a bus. Emam Khomeini square’s metro station has two lines. From any bus station or train station just try to get to any metro line and then get to Emam Khomeini station in order to get oriented.
The metro is quite modern and is being expanded constantly. The first car is reserved for women travelling on their own (which makes for a neat sight when the train pulls into the station -- the first car is full of women, mostly all clad in black)

Getting from Khomeini square to the Terminal e Sharg (eastern busterminal), can be straightforward. First take the bus to Emam Hussein, from the oposit side of Hussein square there is a trolleybusline running all the way to the terminal.

The newer buses going to Esfahan takes about six hours and cost 2250 per person. The older buses probably takes a little longer, but are 1800 toman. The bus to Mashhad takes about 13 hours and cost max. 5000 toman. The southern bus station (Terminal-e jonob, easily reached with metro) in Tehran is good for catching the bus to Esfahan and to Mashhad you should go to the central bus station (By Arzhantin sq.).

The local buses are great for getting around in Tehran. Cheap and cover most of the city. 16 tickets cost 100 toman and you use two per trip.
The metro is even faster and more comfortable, 65 toman per trip, but you don't get to see as much of the city.

You will hear locals complain about traffic but you might not believe them. They are not exagerating. What might take 15 minutes with no traffic can become an hour and a half if you get cought at the time everyone decides to leave the city. I guess that's what happens when population growth outpaces planners.
Be careful with timing your movements.
