Historical Edifice of Rakhtshoi Khaneh which in means laundry.
It was built in 1928.This place was used for washing clothes by women around the city.
It was constructed by two brothers named Akbar Tofighi (architect) & Esmail Tofighi (mason).

This construction can be divided into two parts. The first can be said to be the management, and then the laundry area.
The former relates to the court yard and residential quarters, which encompasses two chambers along with an entrance. The latter portion is the laundry area, that again can be categorized into different sections-such as the water reservoir the ceiling of which is beautifully architectured.

Another section is the main or original laundry, constructed from slabs of stone and mortar. Internally this building boast of unique architectural techniques that made it unique in Iran.

At the present this historic buidling is being used as Zanjan anthropological museum.

It’s open from 9am to 13pm and from 16 to 21pm daily except Monday.
    Admission is IR2.000 (87/2008)

I enjoy Iranian cakes and the cream is delicious and not so "fatty". They are weighted, about IR25,000 per kg. I usually buy 2 pieces for about IR3,500. Some cake shop may have plastic spoon for you so you can eat along. too bad they don't have cake and tea together, except I could find one in Tehren. Otherwise, it will be a perfect afternoon treat. See more pic for what I have got.

I took taxi from here to Takht-e Soleyman for IR450,000 (May 2008). It takes good 2 hours one way and the ride is very scenic with strolling hills. Dandey is in mid-way.

You need at least 1 hour to stay in Takht-e Soleyman. Admission IR4,000 (May 2008).

Taxis are waiting at Ferdosi St and Beheshti (Khayyam) St.

I took a morning bus from Zanjan to Qazvin. Buses are waiting at Ferdosi St and Beheshti (Khayyam) St. I was there at 9:15am but had to wait all passengers to fill the bus beforw it could start off at 10:10am.

The bus was to Tehren and it cost IR20,000 (May 08). It took 2 hours to get to Qazvin. The worse part was that the bus dropped me off not in town of Qazvin, but the highway exit to Qazvin. I was so worried but fortunately, it was a short walk to the local road and from there I caught a shared taxi IR4,000 (May 08) to Darvazeh Rasht roundabout. From there, a shared taxi IR1,000 (May 08) to Hotel Iran.

Please don't take bus from Zanjan to Qazvin, but the train. Train station is less then 2 KM to bazzar / Hotel Iran.
