Miscellaneous: Bizarrely, Iraq uses the same plug sockets as the UK, so you'll need to bring along a 3-pin adaptor if you want to charge your phone or iPod. I didn't see any for sale in the bazaars, but then again I wasn't looking...but if you spend long enough, I'm sure you'll find them somewhere.
Power cuts are quite frequent, but most hotels have back-up generators, so you'll only be left in the dark for a few minutes. If that is likely to freak you out, bring a torch or some candles.
Toilet paper...not a common feature of Iraqi bathrooms, so keep a stash handy! Pocket tissues are easy to find in general stores...ask for "Klineks".

Luggage and bags: when we travelled to Iraq,my mom packed everything,,we were a moving super market!
took tooth pastes, shampoos, soaps,,, rice, olive oil,olives...and dont laugh at this,,but we also took a 10 kilo grams of Bananas!
My cousin`s 7 year old kid did NOT know what was that fruit! It was his first time to see and taste a banana!!!!!!!!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If it`s summer take cotten clothes.if it`s winter take heavy clothes because not many places have heating system.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take all your medication with you, dont expect to find even a pill for your headaches!

Luggage and bags: You need something with straps that you can carry as a backpack. Wheeled luggage is useless on crushed rock and river rock. Cordura Nylon is best. You can beat on it, cut it, and run in sand storms with it and still wash and use it. Most of us use Bug Out Bags.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Heavy duty clothing from good manufacturers is a must. Columbia, 5.11, Timberland, any of the top brands but it must be ruigged construction and able to withstand this harsh, harsh environment.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: AFEES carries just about anything you need. Bring a weeks supply and restock here.
Photo Equipment: I use a DSLR now but in the early days I had a sereies of cheap digital cameras as the weather just beat them up. Don't bring anything you can't afford to replace.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Living here is camping! Everything is a hoot!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: in summer,it IS hot,but really hot:42°C in bagdad and mossoul,45°C in the south
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: take everything you can,for in iraq,if you are sick, you will probably die;do not drink water, because in iraq, water has no minerals,so you will lose to much sodium magnesium and calcium
Photo Equipment: avoid to take photographs outside tourist or acheological sites;and of course,it is forbidden to use your camera in front of saddam's palaces
Miscellaneous: this is the mosque of samarra;I tried to climb to the main ziggurat of this city but I almost fell because of the vertigo
