In the summer it is just wonderful to walk around in the shopping streets, people watching, sitting in a coffee shop or tasting from the traditional local fast food.

It is a beach city, perfect for summer fun, good warm daily weather starts from March and lasting till November, for Finnish kids, even winter is mild here :-)

Ashdod is surely most famous for it’s nice beaches and the multy culture people there. You can be almost sure that no matter from which country you are, someone in the beach will speak your language

Hotel Miami: Ashdod's Absolute Worst

Hotel Miami: Ashdod's Absolute Worst, Ashdod

jhgott Says:  We were in Ashdod, Israel to attend a wedding and were concerned about staying in Ashkelon due to the distance involved (since we didn't have a car). The hotel was a complete DUMP! My original instinct was to leave immediately but I compromised with my wife and stayed one...

Traditional food, pita bread, falafel, hummus, salads, pickles, just great, and a little bit spicy of course, even the young Finnish kids like it.

This is very unique place, not only in Israel but for the whole Mediterranean Sea.
The dunes have been developed here for thousands of years, since the creation of the land & sea and the river Nile, but in today’s modern times, with the dam that blocked the Nile in Egypt and the massive modern construction on the coastline, there are not many dunes left and this one is one of the last ones, a nature reserve for one of the most amazing miracles of nature.

Favorite thing: Ashdod is an average city by the Mediterranean Sea. For tourist and as for local, the culture and fun here is by the beach. There is few good restaurants here and active nightlife. Local contacts will make it even better to maximise the fun in this place.

Official site available in major languages: Ashdod Official

Fondest memory: Waking up with a live blues guitar sound of the Sultans of Swing.
