Netanya Local Customs

As long as i remember there are always people who are fishing at the coast. They are fishing all year long, even in winter!!!!
most of them are fishing at the Sironit beach where there are many breakwaters, they can seat thereva few hours and at the end they catch something, especially small cutr fishes.
I tried it once. My uncle use to fish a lot so once when we both were at the beach i went there but i had no luck and i didnt catch nothing so i walked away and i vdidnt go back there again, its not easy to get there because the breakwaters are very slippy and i afraid to fall down...
So if fishing is you hobby this is the place for you in Netanya!!!

You see the people who immigrated from France to Netanya... i dont know the reason why they came here, but it happend in the last 2 years... you can see them walking around particularly in the Liberty square and in the main street (Hertzel)... you see people of all ages... small kids, teenagers, adults and elderly persons.
To me it seems that they dont do anything all day... no work... no school... but i like them, they giving the city an armosphere like there were tourists (what you cant see because the bad security situation).

The citizens of Netanya dont like to sit at home, at least most of the time tefer being outside.
The people use to walk in city cenyter in streets such Hertzel, Bejamin, Smilanski, Waitzman, Shemuel Hanatziv and more...this streets are full of shops and restaurants where people can havve some fun.
The only times when you will dont see people in the streets is saturday when everythinf is closed.

In Netany there are some places where you can find pigeons, a lot of them. They are waiting especially in Squares, Promenades and Pedestrian malls.
Ycan find a lot of them in Hertzel pedestrian mall, i even saw a lot of them in the fountain that dosnt works...
If you have something to eat you can give them a bit, not too much because they are small animals and they are fat anyway... im sure they will love it!!

Its a small but a very busy street. It leads you from Hertzel blvd. to the Central bus station.
There are some shops and restaurants in the area. You can eat in this street Falafel and shuwarma that are the Israelies national food, there are many small restaurants which sell it and you wont have problam to find it, there will be a lot of people who are aeting outside. In addition to this local costum you will also see in my picture at the right side a man who selling some kind of doughnut, its very good and cheap.

In this place there are many shows. There are plays, appearance, preformances and also stand up shows that are my favorites.
So if you have a spare time come and see something, just plan it at a way that you will have ticket because sometimes there are no tickets when you arrive to the cash box before the show... :((
