Netanya boasts one of the most pleasant shore promenades in Israel. The promenade runs for 4.5 km along the eolianite cliffs above the beach, higher in the north, lower in the south. There are beautiful views of the sea from every point on the promenade. Lawns, trees, picnic tables, playgrounds for children, romantic corners for lovers, an amphitheater for summer shows: all of these can be found on the promenade.
The northern part "Nizza Promenade", is the more elegant section of the promenade, with lush vegetation and sloping hills. The central part is more crowded (mainly on weekends), with families and children, people young and old, locals and tourists. There are several cafes and restaurant, and access to the beach is possible by stairs and by elevator.

Netanya's amphitheater has a superb location in the central part of the promenade, near Kikar Ha-Atzmaut (Independence Square), on the low cliffs overlooking the sea.
The amphitheater has 1200 seats, and on summer evenings you can enjoy the winning combination of a musical performance, A magical sunset over the water and a gentle breeze.

Netanya has been blessed with a beautiful seashore stretching along 12.5 km. There are 9 swimming beaches, all of them free public beaches.
The northern-most is Blue Bay Beach (named after the adjacent hotel). Part of the Blue Bay beach is for swimming, and the other part has a boat ramp and is dedicated to sailing.
The second beach is near the Hassidic neighborhood Kiryat-Tzanz, and is separate for men and women on alternate days.
The next beach is "Four Seasons Beach", near the hotel bearing this name and the elegant Nizza Street. This beach has the best-quality beach services.
"Amphi Beach" is near the city center, and part of it is dedicated to sailboats and surfing, which makes it the most appealing beach for youngsters. This, and the other central beaches, tend to be very crowded during the summer high season.
The south-central beaches are Herzl, Diadora and Arena, and all have well developed beach services. During the summer months the municipality holds free sports events and other activities on these beaches.
Further south, 3 km from the city center, you will find Argaman Beach. It is less crowded, but quite narrow. The southern-most beach is Poleg, my favorite: see separate tip.
Steep eolianite cliffs arise above the beaches of Netanya, with a beautiful clifftop promenade.
Access ti the beaches usually involves climbing many stairs, but in the south-central segment there is an elevator which makes access easy for all (including people with disabilities).

If you continue only a few hundred meters south from the official Poleg Beach the scenery changes: The kurkar (eolianite) ridge rises above you, with a multitude of shapes and hues. There are some picturesque rocks in the water, with schools of tiny fish swimming among them. You see very few bathers, but you can meet joggers, hikers, fishermen, a few horse riders...
You can continue walking on the shore for several kilometers.
This is one of my favorite beaches in central Israel.

This is the southern-most beach of Netanya; it's wide and spacious, and not overcrowded. Access is easy by car: the parking lot is on the same level as the beach, no need to climb any steps (good access for the disabled, but not only for them: none of us likes to start climbing dozens of steps after a long day in the sun!). Parking costs 10 NIS in a weekday, 15 NIS on Shabbat; Netanya residents get a 5 NIS discount.
The beach services include a lifeguard, a beach bar-restaurant, changing rooms, showers and bathrooms.

The Netanya beach boasts a new elevator to the sea - the first of its kind in Israel - which descends from the promenade along the cliff top to the beach. The elevator was built because of the difference in height between the city center and the sea shore and enables easy and speedy access - within 20 seconds.
On Netanya Beach you'll find dozens of nice hotels with all facilities for sports, swimming and sunbathing as well as restaurants and bars

In the Hamatzok promenade there is a beautiful statue of an hawk. Its situated in the middle of many small green gardens and makes a nice atmosphre.

One of the cities most beautiful and luxurious neighborhoods are the villas neighborhood near the Carmel hotel and Hamatzok promenade.
The villas are beautiful, big, some of them made of marble.

In additon to all the shopping centers and the hyparmarkets there are a lot more activities in the new industrial park. There is bowling, billiard, some other great shops, karting, restaurants, pubs and bars.
So in my opinion its one of the best places to have fun in the city.

This is a very luxurious part of Netanya. A very expensive houses and high blocks. The is also a great new promenade very close. The new industrial park is 10 minouts by car.
This area situated on the cities southern part as a potetial of becoming one of the countries best neighborhoods.
