This beautifll new steps were built just now (2004) to the incoming swimming season.
They are built in a beautiful modern style, in a lovely silver colored barrier, going down in a twisted way, so if you have tendency to vertigos you maybe shouldnt try it.
It is starting at the Liberty square and leads you down to the beach, upstairs, at the beginning you can have a great view over the beach and the sea.
This is the city Center, the heart of Netanya. Its a place where families come to walk at weekeds, children driving their bike and skating on rollerblades.
In the summer there are many performances of artistsand other famous people.
The place can be called as the most importent monument of Netanya. Its surroundings are the mst importent spots of the city: the Becah is just 2 minouts away, Hertzel street is lso a few minouts away and the square itself surronded by the best restaurants and shops in the city.
This is the heart of Netanya. By night you can see a lot of young people going out to the pubs, restaurants and the video games that are in the area. It is lighted up beautifully and you can get also a great view to the see.
Its the place that you must visit when you are in Netanya.
This place, called Krausze str is in my opinion the most europena place in the city and it should be accepted at any european capital. The street is built in a small promenade style. Its paved beautifully with a lot of statues andd benches. There are many boutiques and cafes, that by the way are not cheap at all.
It can be a great place for a short walk that remainds you the city when it was full of tourists.
It is one of Netanyas promenades. It was built already in the late sixties and renovaed in 1996 and now it looks great.
You can find there a lot of green areas where people come to do picnics, a lot of playgrounds for the kids and even a rollerblayds circle.
there are also some kiosks and restuarants along the promenade where you can eat or buy am ice cream in the hot days and there is also an amphitheater which used for shows in the summer.
It has an amazing view to the sea so you can go there for a romantic evening with your lover, or just go out for a walk with your dog...
Well after we were all sated with the fine BBQ that we had, full of good wine and satisfied with the "small talk" of any VT BBQ meet, we decided that we needed a "group" picture.
You can see from left;
Sharon, Nathalie, Martin, Racheli, Or and Hilla.
Zohara was the photographer.
Once again thanks to Or for inviting us into her home, and thanks to all who came, I very much enjoyed myself and look forward to the next meet.
At some point in the evening Nathalie decided to have a conversation with Or's dog, I do not know if it was because of the company, or because everyone else had too much wine??? But for sure it looks like she had him eating out of her hand (well at least licking her shoulder ;O)))
PS: no the dog is not Martin in disguise for those of you who asked !!!
Or was kind enough to invite all the local crazy VTer's to her house to have a VT meet for Nathalie who came to visit us here in Israel. Poor girl, little did she know what she was letting herself in for, but she did survive and we thank you Or. Hopefully she will come down to Arad for a VT meet so we can return the kindness, we will make sure we have some wine she likes....
Located at the outskirts of Netanya is the tiny Iris reserve where this beautiful flowers bloom every winter. Best time to visit would be February. From there you can walk also down to the beach.
