Netanya Things to Do

  • The Netanya Promenade

Netanya boasts one of the most pleasant shore promenades in Israel. The promenade runs for 4.5 km along the eolianite cliffs above the beach, higher in the north, lower in the south. There are beautiful views of the sea from every point on the promenade. Lawns, trees, picnic tables, playgrounds for children, romantic corners for lovers, an...

Netanya's amphitheater has a superb location in the central part of the promenade, near Kikar Ha-Atzmaut (Independence Square), on the low cliffs overlooking the sea.The amphitheater has 1200 seats, and on summer evenings you can enjoy the winning combination of a musical performance, A magical sunset over the water and a gentle breeze.

  • Shore Walk South of Poleg Beach

If you continue only a few hundred meters south from the official Poleg Beach the scenery changes: The kurkar (eolianite) ridge rises above you, with a multitude of shapes and hues. There are some picturesque rocks in the water, with schools of tiny fish swimming among them. You see very few bathers, but you can meet joggers, hikers, fishermen, a...

  • Poleg Beach

This is the southern-most beach of Netanya; it's wide and spacious, and not overcrowded. Access is easy by car: the parking lot is on the same level as the beach, no need to climb any steps (good access for the disabled, but not only for them: none of us likes to start climbing dozens of steps after a long day in the sun!). Parking costs 10 NIS in...

  • Take the Elevator to the beach !!

The Netanya beach boasts a new elevator to the sea - the first of its kind in Israel - which descends from the promenade along the cliff top to the beach. The elevator was built because of the difference in height between the city center and the sea shore and enables easy and speedy access - within 20 seconds. On Netanya Beach you'll find dozens of...

  • Black Women Beware!!

I traveled to Cairo and Israel, basically alone. I was with a church group, but I didn't belong to the church, so I didn't know anyone. I wanted to get my picture drawn by a street artist....

    Parking tickets machine

    by edvin_br Written Feb 20, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In Israel you cant park t any place in the street. if the sidewalks painted in red and white you mustnt park there!!! You may park at a place that dosnt painted at all or if it is painted blue and white you can park if you put at the windowpane parking ticket... in my city at the recent weeks the municipality had put a lot of parking machines where you can buy tickets and they are situated everywhere so watch out not to get a fine!!

Unique Suggestions: Park at premited places.

Fun Alternatives: Buy a parking ticket!!!

Netanya has the best beaches we've been to in Israel. The sand is well-kept, the beaches are rarely crowded and the water is great.
