Visit Har Hillel and look for the Coral Peony

Just outside Beit Jann is a small unmarked nature preserve called Har Hillel. If you drive through the village toward the south-east you will find the entrance just outside the village, just ask along the way, most people in the village know where it is. Or ask them the way to see the Admonit HaHoresh (that is the Coral Peony in Hebrew)...
In the first picture you can see the sign showing the way, but it may take you some time to find it as it is well hidden, almost as if they were "advertising" to keep this a secret...

The "Katlav" tree in Har Hillel

In the Har Hillel preserve (outside of Beit Jann) you will find some of the most amazing trees, the Katlav.
The last picture here shows a closeup of the bark of this tree and the formation its limbs can create....go ahead, touch it, this looks and feels warm and smooth, almost like a babies skin, the texture is quite unusual for a tree.

Har Hillel, other things to see !

    Thorns in Har Hillel, Israel

Just a few "other" things to look for while visiting Har Hillel. Not only the Admonit HaHoresh and the Katlav are beautiful, you can find flowers of all sizes, shapes and colors, not to mention aromas....even the thorn bushes should be taken "seriously"...and if you take a close look, even the stones have things to say to those who can "hear" them, the stone here had details on it like a topographical map

    Horse riding

    Horseback riding, Beit Jann, Israel

If you enjoy nature, animals and people, one of the best ways to do all three is to go horseback riding. Here Tal and her friend are "inspecting" one of the horses before their ride.
