Tel Dan is one of the most charming places in Israel. Here you have a rare combination of plenty of water, plenty of shade and an archeological site. The Dan is one of the three tributaries of the Jordan river and from the three it is the biggest (and has the coldest water...). The spring feeding the river is the biggest in the Middle East. So, this is a perfect place to come for a nice walk in nature at summer when most places in Israel are too hot and too exposed to the sun to go to.
The reserve offers 4 hiking trail varying in length. One of which is suitable for wheelchairs. You can just walk along the water, in the shade, soak your feet in the wading pool. Or you can explore the entire park, including the 3500 years old Canaanite city found there. This city is mentioned in the Bible and is one of the two worship places of the northern Israel kingdom which split from Judea after the death of king Solomon.
