I was visiting family in Haifa when I came across this beautiful store. The woman there said it was just recently opened but it had tons of great inventory to choose from. It has so many things, from retro to vintage to antique furniture. Everything felt one-of-a-kind and the best part is, they do reupholstery!!
What to buy: There's so many things at this place. I personally am a big fan of retro furniture and I found quite a few pieces that I found interesting. The two I purchased were a set of matching chairs that I am shipping back to the States. Also, they REUPHOLSTER!! My daughter had a loveseat reupholstered and it came out gorgeous! Wonderful, wonderful place!
What to pay: I've never found a retro outlet with pricing as good as this one(certainly not stateside). My two chairs came out to 400 dollars and at home, I'd never get them for less than a thousand.

Haifa's flea market is small but has a variety of items for sale, from antique furniture to second-hand toilet seats, from clocks and lamps to paintings, candlesticks, old typewriters and so on and so forth. it is said to be cheaper than the larger and more famous Jaffa flea market.
The flea market is located in the Lower City, on Kibbutz Galuyot Street. I liked the name of one of the shops, "Joseph's Collection", which rhymes nicely in Hebrew: "Ha-Ossef shel Yossef".
The peak of activity is on Fridays and Sundays. On Saturdays there is a "bargain" market on the street directly above Kibbutz Galuyot. It is an intersting ethnic mix of new immigrants, ethnic minorities, foreign workers and yuppies looking for that special antique item for their Tel Aviv townhouse.

During the time I served in the army in a base close to Haifa (I had to hang out dozens of hours around the city) I also found out that in addition to many beautiful attractions and great restaurants there are plenty of shopping malls in the city. Maybe even the most you can fiond in a 300,000 peoples city in the middle east.
-The largest one is the "Grand kenyon" - located at Neve Sha'anan district and its considered to be the largest mall in the middle east!
-Haifa Mall- is located in the southern gates of the city. pretty large mall with some very good shops.
-"Kastra" - located just near Haifa mall where you can find some great art shops but not much more actually.
-"Lev Hamifratz" - located at the bust area of the check post. Its another boig mall with tons of shops and fast food restaurants.
-"Kiryon" - located just north of Haifa in Qiryat Bialik.

Opening to much fan fare in August of 1999, the Grand Canyon (a cute play on words since Kenion, similar sound to Canyon means mall in Hebrew), is the largest shopping mall in the Haifa district and possible in the country.
What to buy: Head straight to the Maccabi Haifa Football Club shop which is a popular destination for European tourists who are quite used to seeing club shops in Europe, this is the only nice one in Israel.

Castra is an artists' , shopping and entertainment center, combining art, culture and leisure-time activities. The center offers visitors a wide range of art galleries, artists' workshops and shops, boutiques selling fashion, jewelry and other designer goods. Don't miss the unique largest tile wall painting in the world , outside the mall. It was created especially for the project by the Austro-Israeli artist Eric Brauer, based on Old Testament themes. Hundreds of ceramic tiles, which was painted laid out on a worktable, and baked in a kiln and assembled, like a puzzle, individually on the wall to obtain the complete work of art.
Opening Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 10am-10pm. Fridays: 10am-3pm. Saturdays: from 11am to 22pm.
