how to go there
Cana is 9km N of Nazareth, 21km W of Tiberias, 119km NE of Tel Aviv, 47km SE of Haifa, 159km N of Jerusalem
We drove to Cana from Nazareth on our way to Tiberias, we had to drive through Cana anyway and we found heavy traffic on our way in and out of Cana with the car getting stacked in the city for several minutes causing delay on our itinerary.
There are to/from Cana on their way to other destinations, ask for Kfar Cana:
Bus 28 and 28s(Nazareth-Sahhnin)
Bus 31(Nazareth-Emek HaYarden)
Although for Nazareth the most convenient is the sherut minivan that departs from Nazareth bus stop across Mary’s Well square. Ticket costs 6nis.
Bus from Nazareth to Kafr Cana and Beyond
Nazareth is a good Base for a Multi Day Northern Israel and Galilee Tour for tourists and for Pilgrimage by Christians as Nazareth has fairly nice and big accomodations and is way cheaper to stay than in Tiberias City along the Sea of Galilee and from Nazareth, the first stop on a Galilee Jaunt will be either at Mount Tabor (site of the Miracle of the Transfiguration), which is just 16 kilometers east of Nazareth or at Kafr Kana, which is just 9 kilometers north of Nazareth, then after the stop, will then proceed to other biblica sites like Mount Carmel, Capernaum, Tabgha, etc.
