Beside of its religious meaning Mount Tabor offers very great views into the surrounding landscapes. Already when coming into the region I notices this extremely well shaped mountain without knowing it is Mount Tabor. Beside the church there is a platform from where you can enjoy the view. In case you stop on your way up or down along the road, take care that others can see you and your car. The street is pretty narrow.

On top of Mount Tabor a huge church was built in 1929, cause here is a religious site. It is thought that Jesus appeared to his disciples as 'son of god' radiating light. It was one of the miracles he did. This is why the church is called the 'Church of the Transfiguration'.
In the inside of the Church of the Transfiguration you will find a lot of symbolic referring to the Transfiguration. The church was designed by Antonio Barluzzi and built on the ruins of a Byzantine church and a Crusader church. On the round floor of both towers on the sides of the entrance you will find a chapel. One is dedicated to Moses, the other to Elijah. Both have an important role in the story of the Transfiguration.

On top of this ant mound shaped mountain sits the Church of the Transfiguration, a very beautiful structure with one of the best views around. Suffice it to say that it is worth the trip up for both. The web page that I found explains much better and in more detail.
It is best to go in the morning before the tourist buses begin arriving.

The Bordo is located at the edge of the village, far from the main road and sort of isolated, which made it perfect to sit out on the porch and enjoy a beautiful evening as a background to our meal.
Favorite Dish: I had the Cordon Blue and it was excellent. AND the price was only 62 Shekels, about 15US$...
