How to go there
Yardenit is located on river Jordan at the south exit of Sea of Galilee, just behind the gate of the Dam that is used on rainy winters to lower the level of the lake. It is located just outside Kinneret kibbutz, 10km south of Tiberias, 40km W of Nazareth
We drove from Tiberias in less than 10’. There is a large parking lot with plenty of space for cars and buses free of charge.
Bus from Tiberias reach Yardenit in Kinneret in about 15’.
Most visitors come here in masses with tourist buses, large groups of tourist come and go non stop, it’s a pretty busy attraction, a great tourist trap :)
Big Tour Buses from Nazareth or Tiberias
Nazareth and Tiberias are the popular base areas to start a multi day tour or Pilgrimage into Northern Israel and if you are coming from Tiberias, Kinneret is just a 20 kilometer and 25 minute drive south and if coming from Nazareth, the drive is about 46 kilometers and 50 minutes away (but you would pass by other pilgrimage sites like Mount Carmel, Mount Tabor or Kafr Kana before going to Yardenit in Kinneret as after your Jordan River Baptism, you would then proceed to the Northern Part of Sea o Galilee into Capernaum, Tabgha and Mount of Beatitudes and finally ride a Jesus Boat along the Sea of Galilee.
