This is one of my favourite museums in Israel. As the name suggests it's a photography museum. Only, besides the photographs on display here there are also some devices to demonstrates how a camera works which are great for kids.

    Opening Hours:

    Sun.-Thur. 08:00 - 16:00
    Fri. closed
    Sat. & Holidays 10:00 - 17:00

Ayoun Stream is one of the nicest and most popular hikes. It's right next to Metulla so it's very accessible. You can either take the entire hike or just go directly to the Oven Fall, a mere several hundreds metres walk. If you are really lazy you can just stop your car on the main road and catch a glimpe of the waterfalls. If you have the time, I recommend to go the distance and walk the whole trail. It's quite an easy walk. You can go either way, but it's easier to start at the northern gate (right next to the Lebanese border) and exit at the main gate (the southern one). Along the trail you will see the Mill Fall and, towards the end, the Oven Fall which is about 30 metres high.

Notice that in the summer some of the water is diverted by Lebanese farmers, so the best season to some here is early spring or winter (it could be quite muddy and even flooded if you come after several rainy days).

See more pictures in the travelogue.

The places mentioned are obviously not in Metulla but there are no alternative pages to put them in

A Golan Heights page would be Ideal!

I have included places in the upper Galilee & Golan Heights on my Israel pages also

Nimrods castle & Mount Hermon, waterfalls, are all other places to visit as well as Druze villages like Majdal Shams, who are vey welcoming.

Beautiful waterfall in national park, must-see if you are in the North. There are two entrances to this park. Go to the first entrance and walk straight down to the waterfall. Look for funny animals that live there, they look like huge hamsters. Then take your car back to the road and drive further, and find the other entrance to the same park. From here take one of the hikes, it's worth it.

Very cool waterfall, climb up one hill and see the waterfall coming down the adjacent hill. Best in spring and winter while there is still water.
