This lovely nature reserve is just 15 minutes drive from my home and I visit there often. There are many birds and animals at the site. The best seasons to visit are spring and autumn when 100 million birds migrate and rest here on their way to Europe or Africa. Click on the link below for accurate information about the site. Banyas is another river and a nature reserve further east to Golan Heights from Tel-Dan. If you walk the long trail both ways it will take you about 3 hours, but it is worth it! Most of the trail is easy walking, there is only some climbing up and down stairs at the other end. At the other end there are the Banyas springs, archeaological findings and temple of Pan. ... is also located at Bet Ussishkin. There you can admire a statue of Aphrodite that was found at the nearby area. The museum also has an impressive collection of original pottery from the excavations at ancient Dan. There is a 17 minute light and sound show which can be shown to you in different languages. Bet Usshiskin by Kibbutz Dan and Tel-Dan is a natural history museum that has a collection of the animals of northern Israel. You can meet the birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals in their preserved state. There is also an impressive skull and skeleton collection. The other part of the museum is the archealogical museum. There you can admire Aphrodite, a marble statue of who was found years ago in the fields at the foot of nearby Tel Dan. Leave a Comment

There is snow in Mt Hermon in winter and the ski resort opens. Entering the ski center is expensive of course, but another option (and free) is to have fun in snow in north Golan heights, close to Hermon. I don't like snow. I like seeing it only from distance or in pictures, but here you can see pictures of me beside a snowman in winter sometime in winter 2000-2001 at Migdal Shams area and three pictures from the ski resort that were taken by mr.haiamisa on 15.2.2008 Leave a Comment

These are called Tractoronim over here, and they can be hired from nearly all the kibbutzim around in the Galil and the Golan. We got a brochure from the Guest House and took it from a company called Iguana. It cost 170 shekels for an hour for two of us (we went on one thing together) and it was really fun! Leave a Comment Directions: Ours was from Shaar Yishuv, but they have them also at Kibbutz Dishon and many other places.Website: www.tractoron.co.il
