Jacob's Ladder is a two-day folk music festival, this year held on Kibbutz Ginosar on the shores of Lake Kinneret. This year's artists (too long a list to mention) included Black Velvet - Israel's verteran Irish Band, Orrin Star - USA-Brooklyn Bluegrass Maestro; award winning guitar, banjo and madolin player, Jug O'Punch - traditional Scottish, English, Irish and American folk songs and HaCana'anim (these guys are going to the top!) - Africa, South America, Switzerland, The Old West. A top folk singer here, Sandy Cash - sung great songs and lots were really funny.
There were lots for kids to do - the sea, handicrafts etc. (see my travelogue).
I recommend anybody coming here around this period next year, check this festival out.
If you come to Tiberias you simply must go for a ride on one of the 'Jesus Boats' as they're lovingly called. Generally rides are for half an hour on up and they start in cost at 30 Shekels a person.
No visitor to Tiberias miss a visit to the Kinneret. The lake is about 200 metres below sea level and is surrounded by the Galilee mountains on the west and the Golan heights on the east.
It's a nice walk up the hill from the lake to the citadel. On the way you can see the old, black stone, houses and get views of the lake.
