This is so far the best restaurant I have eaten in in Jerusalem. Ima has wonderful food that tastes just like somebody's mother had cooked it! And that is the case as somebody's mother really is the chief cook of the restaurant. Not only the food is good, but so is the service and so are the prices. Interesting fact: when I ate there on the 3rd of August 2008, so did the Minister of Law and Justice of Israel!
Oh all of it, but most I recommend the stuffed vegetables, kubba soup, madgara and chicken. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S This coffee place, which I am not sure if it belong to Rimon networks or not located in a great location, at the new centre with terrace facing the old city, Jaffa gate and the King David Tower. Best view for a coffee break for sure. Leave a Comment Theme: Coffeehouse

by Gili_S This is another small cosy café I spotted while strolling from the old city back to the bus station. Well depends on the season you visit, but in the winter you can get warm up here and in the hot summer to get some cold fresh drink. Leave a Comment Theme: Coffeehouse

Vienna Coffeehouse at the Austrian Hospice, Jer. by WStat, 1 more photos The"Austrian Hospice of the Holy Family" was officially opened on 19 March 1863. With some major interruptions it serves as a hostel, restaurant and haven for pilgrims from all nations. 1987 the building was completely renovated. Pilgrimage activities resumed in January 1988,since then, guests from all over the world have been able to enjoy its hospitality. One of the many highlits is its "Viennese Coffeehouse", serving many of the delicious dishes usually available only in Vienna: In addition to numerous classic coffee variations, teas, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, here you can find the range of dishes on offer in a traditional Viennese cafe, like Sachertorte with whipped cream, Apple Strudel, Goulash soup and Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad as well as special sandwiches. There are also hotelrooms and dormitories available at fair prices

Jaffa Cakes by Trillian2005 I still can't see a connection between Jaffa Gate and Jaffa Cakes. Perhaps they were originally baked near Jaffa Gate, or one or the other busy tourist running around to experience Jerusalem in 1.5 hours accidentally dropped a box of them, after a hurried lunch, at Jaffa Gate. Or perhaps they are named after Old Jaffa. But that is near Tel Aviv and has nothing to do with Jerusalem. Anyway, Jaffa Cakes are delicious and taste orange. No, I don't have synesthesia, I'm talking about the flavor. Leave a Comment

My Salad :-) by Sharon This lovely restaurant is one a famous restaurant in En Kerem and in Jerusalem. Its pretty lovely and it has indoor and outdoor tables. The outdoor tables are in sort of garden and the feeling there is quite relaxed. The Dishes are good and sometimes just way too big for one person ! My salad (although it may not look like in the photo) was a huge dish and i couldn't even finish it, however i admit it was great and i enjoyed every bite of it even though it was full of chees and i Don't like chees. Once arriving to En Kerem an on your way to soem of the main holly sites you'll see this restaurant... Or just ask the people there, impossible to miss it. Indoors at the Philadelphia by NYTim This place is just behind the Novotel hotel where I stayed. Friendly and relativeley inexpensive Arabic food, washed down with lots of beer, Yum! Yum! I had the obiquitous salads hummous etc., then lamb kebabs. Excellent quality and value for the money. I sat outside under a linen awning that puffed and rose with every breeze. Gentle Middle Eastern music wafted across my table. I was alone but happy with the experience
I guess the lamb it was so juicy

by Gili_S Cafe Geo is more like a kiosk place in the old city, it is situated in a peaceful street in the old city by the Danish mission, yet a good place for a break in between visiting places in the old city. Leave a Comment Theme: Coffeehouse

Papa Andreas Restaurant is located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, in the center square of the Muristan section. We climbed the stairs to the large, spacious roof, and had a very good lunch (the usual Middle Eastern fare) with a great view all around us: The Muristan square with its small fountain right below us; the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer very close on one side, and the Holy Sepulchre Church nearby; the roofs and balconies of the Christian Quarter all around; the golden Dome of the Rock a bit further, and the Mount of Olives in the distance: the most inspiring background for an enjoyable meal. For a rainy day, there is also an indoor dining hall one floor down. by jadedmuse You'll find the Armenian Tavern right along, where else - the Armenian Patriarchate Road, a few blocks to the right of the Jaffa Gate entrance. I love the decor of this place, and the fact that it's got so much Armenian flavor to it. The salads are great and the food in general is pretty good. It's definitely a place to visit for lunch or dinner - especially since there aren't too many decent restaurants (in my opinion) within the Old Walled City.
