    Sakura: Best Sushi in Israel

by HJIL Written Apr 12, 2003

This is widely seen as the best sushi place in Israel. It is reasonably priced, but not cheap. I know a few people who have travelled a lot who say it is the best Sushi they ever had. I have been to trendy Sushi bars in New York and Washington DC and this really is my favorite of them all. I love their chicked skewers too, with a side of rice. It is a very small and modest looking place but the food is great.

Favorite Dish: Chicken Yakitori Skewers, very good with a bowl of rice. And all ofthe Sushi of course. And you have to try the chocolate mousse!

I don't remember it's name, but I do remember the place. When you walk into the Old city of Jerusalem through Jaffagate, you will see when you passed a small street a breakfast and lunch restaurant on your left hand. This is a great restaurant. The people are nice and the omelets and fruitjuices are really tasty!
It's in the old city, the breakfast is yummy and you can look at the Jaffagate.

Favorite Dish: Orange juice, a fluffy omelet with toast and mint tea when you finish breakfast.

Not necessarily my favorite, but interesting was the Elvis Inn. Nothing like being in Jerusalem and seeing a 25 ft. statue of Elvis.
Do you know they had pigeon on the menu? Who eats pigeon? Tastes like chicken?

I rather avoid the trade mark fast food while in Jerusalem as you can have those all over the world. The local falafel and kebab are good enough as a snack or even as full meal sometimes.

    Pitta im Zatar

by jacobzoethout Written Jun 19, 2007

Whenever in the Jewish Quarter, you better choose a pitta with zatar and labaneh from this bacery then from the other too touristy pizza and felafel places. It is close to the Cardo.
