    The cardo was the old times shopping center. Cardo is a Latin word which means "heart". Today you can see the remains of this old street 2 minutes walking from the Zion gate.

    The Christian quarter is one of the quarters of the old city of Jerusalem. You will there a lot of Religious places like a Freyer school , Monastaries and of course the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, one of the Christian's most holy place.

    Nice to see is the Hurva Synagogue. The ruins of the Hurva synagogue are not the oldest of Jerusalem. Now it's only 300 years old but it was deconstructed by the Jordanians in 1948. Nowadays the arch of the synagogue is a symbol of the Jewish Quarter. The ruins are not that spectacular but anyhow it is worth a visit.

    After walking through the four quarters of the old city, I found the Jewish quarter to be the nicest. The Jewish quarter and the Christian quarter seem to be the only ones with large open squares where you can see some sunlight. There are many things to check out in the Jewish quater. There is the Hurva synagogue, which was destroyed in 1948 when the Jews were kicked out of the old city as a result of the Israeli War of Independence, is currently being rebuilt. As well as the Western Wall of the Temple Mount and many cute Judaica and art shops.
