Vere' praying for my VT friends, yes you. by Grazina There is nothing sacred about this Wailing or Western Wall by any means, the worshipper don't pray to the wall and that's all it is is a wall, in fact it's the foundation of the Temple mount where the Jewish Temple of God (Holy of Holie) was in 70 C.E. So the people pray in the direction of the Temple...which is quite funny because all over the world Jews pray to the east in the direction of Jerusalem(also Navajo as well), but when your in Jerusalem on this spot you face the west and pray. My country is USA, but my home is Jerusalem. by Grazina This Wall stands beneath the Dome of the Rock. Jewish and Christian devotees alike from all over the world come and pray at this Wall...some wail, other meditate, and the rest spectated. However you come God meets you here this is known as a local call for Heaven. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S I am most recommanding to keep your political opinion to yourself. In Jerusalem it is mostly recommended. Almost every nationality, ethnic group & religion that exist on earth, have representation in this area, including of course the Christians, Jewish & Muslim or their verious movements. If asked, best just to reply that you do not know much about the conflict and you just hope for peace in Jerusalem Leave a Comment

Women to the right please. by Grazina This is a custom that has been handed down from generation to generation. At the Wailing or Western Wall...the men pray on one side and the women on the other, this way the women are not distracting the men at prayer time, so there is a partition that divides the prayer warrior with the women getting the smaller section.
