    Be`er Sheva Train Station
    4 more images

We took the train from Tel Aviv to Be`er Sheva. It was a smooth ride in an air conditioned carriage. The train has a stop at the Be`er Sheva university in the Northern edge of the city and thereafter enters the town following a half circle track to the end of the line at the Main Station Be`er Sheva Merkaz. Ticket prices were half what I pay for the same distance in the Netherlands.

    Train

by antistar Updated Mar 25, 2007

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are regular trains to Beersheba from Tel Aviv that take about 1.5 hours. You can day trip it just about from Jerusalem, but the trip will be closer to 2.5 hours. The trains are cheap, clean, reasonably quick, and not crowded at all.

Be`er Seheva Taxis are handy when you need to go to the outer parts of town. A journey from the station to the city limits will be about NIS 35.

The new Be`we Sheva center is just 2 blocks from the train station and the old town a bit further.
The University is served by buses and has its own train stop.

Israel is small. you can cross the whole state in less then 9 hours, north to south.
Going a bit south of Tel Aviv is easy to do with car. Its only 90 min drive.
We made one stop on the way for all the coffee geek (me) and then we moved on.
Bus is also a possibility, same time, and it cost only 4$ one way.

    Bus line info : www.egged.co.il
    On line tickets as well

    Bus

by antistar Updated Mar 25, 2007

The main bus station, where Egged run the 31 bus to the IAF museum, is not the collection of bus stops you see just outside the station as you leave. Instead keep walking past these, and the bus station is hidden away behind some shops just after here.
