being a major tourist and resort town and a major border crossing into Jordan and Egypt, Eliat has many shops and malls that cater to both local and International Tourists who go on Staycations here at the Gulf of Aqaba and a major turn on for shoppers here is that they have no VAT (Value added Tax or Sales Tax) on goods and foods purchased. Eliat has the big malls like the Mull HaYam Mall, Big Eliat Mall, Queen of Sheba Mall and many shops along the Boardwalk. stores here have both local and international brands.

What to buy: Eilat has the special distinction of having no Value Added Tax (VAT) added to purchases. People from all over Israel and other parts of Europe come here to shop. No VAT means no waiting at the airport for your refund, and an overall ~15% cost savings - that can be substantial if you are purchasing big ticket items!
What to buy: Eilat stone has only been found in King Solomon's copper mines, in the Red Sea near Eilat, Israel. It is an exclusive stone from Israel, and is becoming very scarce, due to the halting of mining this stone in the 1970's. There are no other stones like the Eilat stone anywhere in the world.
Eilat stone is comprised of Azurite, Amalachite, Turquoise and Chrysocolla.

There are few supermarkets around the hotels area where you can get your supply, snacks, food and drinks in rather cheap compare to hotels and restaurant. Especially good to get you water supply here in quantity to have enough with you when going to the beach or in the sun.
Big Center: Big Center
On your entrance to Eilat from the Arava road there is a big shopping center called BIG center on your right side.
You will find here a lot of stores - music , clothes , books , toys and more.
The place is open sunday-thursday from 10:00-23:00 , friday from 9:00-16:00 and saturday from an hour after the Shabath-23:00.
all around Eilat: Tax Free
Eilat is a Tax Free city so theoretically things should be cheaper than other cities in Israel.
In actual fact , not all the places sell cheaper , only big chains stores with branches in Eilat.
Still you will find cheap things here.
