Just along the main road into Eilat is the Underwater Observatory and Coral World Park...we had spoken to a local that we know in advance called Clive and he had arranged our tickets and a 10% discount for us at the gate...if you want Clives details or think he could help you with your Eilat travel plans let me know and I will introduce you...
The park itself is a lot of seperate aquariums and its all quite well made and well presented and the tanks are a fair size and well cleaned...you can get a chance to see all the different fish up close and contained...there are also the obligatory gift shops and a fast food restaurant and ice cream stands..it looks like thay might set up a chance to scuba in the shark tank in the future and we would go back if that was set up properly im sure.
there is also a semi sub cruise that leaves 2 times a day...sorry that we missed it!
... and I was very disappointed, but the park is still worth a visit for the underwater observatory.
This is a genuine observatory where the fish are actually in the sea, and not in tanks. If you haven't been snorkelling or scuba diving, or even if you have - you will be simply agog looking at all the thousands of fish. Keep an eye out for the amazing lionfish.
This park is very interesting, with a few attractions as the yellow submarine, the exhibitions of the red sea life, and the Oceanarium
When you enter to the observatory, go down, to enjoy views of the sea in its best. Also you can go to the top to amke photos of the beaches and reefs. Just lovely
you pay an additional fee to get inside and travel under the water at the observatory.
Sorry we did not make it :(
There is a large sharks and cat fish pool containing several sharks and other fish where you can see them also underwater from very close.
In the underwater observatory, 6 meters below sea level you can discover the flora, fauna, tropical fish and pearl-hued coral of the Red Sea.
The underwater observatory is housed beneath this tower, a few rooms sitting on the seabed. It also has a cafeteria and observation tower.
You can take a ride on the Yellow Submarine at addition cost, I did not try this so I cannot give a recommendation.
A view from the underwater observatory. Many colorful native fish can be seen swimming wild through its windows.
Make a trip with the yellow submarine 'Jacqueline' at Coral World. You will experience a crystal clear view during an underwater safari 60 m beneath the surface of the Red Sea.
Visit the Underwater Observatory with colourful marine life: fauna, flora, tropical fish. From here you can see the Red Sea's natural coral reef.
The picture shows what you see at 60 m depth.
Really must seen.
Explore the underwater world.
it's truely recommended to buy tickets to the "ocenarium" show.
