The outskirts of Sderot may seem an unlikely place for a chef's restaurant, and the humble, somewhat run-down exterior of Cadaques restaurant does not look very inviting, but don't let this fool you or deter you.
Once you are seated and have a look at the menu, you can look forward to a real dining experience. The chef, Tal Pichovitz, specializes in Latin tapas and Caribbean cuisine. We ordered several tapas (empanadas de jamon y queso, tuna empanadas, patatas bravas), which were very good. For main dishes we ordered beef curry Trinidad-style, chicken fajitas, albondigas in cherry, tomato and wine sauce, and also a Roquefort and pear salad with vermouth dressing. Everything was delicious.
The service was very friendly, our waiter was a student from the local Sappir College.
