So I started my trip along Israel in Uvda and was transferred by a minibus to the Dead Sea.
This way leads 15 km along the Route #12, 26 km along the Route #40, 11 km along the Route #13 and 107 km along the Route 90 up to Ein Bokek. In summary it is 160 km and two hours in a way.

I've completed my trip along Israel in Ovda (Uvda) after I spent two nights in Eilat. It takes only 40 minutes to get to the airport Ovda from Eilat 57 km by bus or by car along the Route #12.
This is the area of the Eilat Mountains Nature Reserve which is very picturesque.

Israel has several International airports, the main of which is the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. If you follow to the South Region you’d better use Eilat or Uvda airports. But large wide-body aircrafts cannot operate from Eilat Airport because of its short runway. That’s why most international flights land at Uvda instead of Eilat about 60 km from it.
I bought two-way flight of Aeroflot Russian Airlines from Moscow to Uvda and back and it was very convenient to start and finish my trip there.

You can reach Ein Gedi by Egged bus from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Eilat, Beer Sheva or Arad.
Bus stops in Ein Gedi (make sure you get off at the right one):

2. Ein Gedi beach by the gas station - for the beach, restaurant, information center, Nachal Arugot, Synagogue.
3. Ein Gedi Guest House (the bus stop is inside the Kibbutz up the hill, and not all buses go there) - for the guest house and the country lodgings.
4. Ein Gedi Spa.
486 and 487 from Jerusalem
444 from Eilat
421 from Tel Aviv
384 from Beersheva and Arad
This is the area around our home, as you can see BeerSheva is just 45 kilometers west of Arad and we are just 25 kilometers west of the Dead Sea...Masada, Mt. Sdom, Lahav Forest, Large Crater, Tel Arad, Ein Gedi and Mamshit are also close by.
I am not sure about the frequency of the bus to En gedi but still you can try to catch those lines :
from Tel Aviv 421and it will cost you 53 nis for one way.
from Jerusalem 421 (the one from Tel Aviv) , 486 and 487 and it will cost you 32 nis for one way.
from BeerSheba 384 and it will cost you 34 nis for one way.
The Dead Sea is an isolated place - not in the center of Israel.
The best thing is to drive with a car.
You can go from 2 ways - Arad and Jerusalem.
Arad is the best road because the other one is a little bit dangerous (arab villages).
There are 3 option to get to beersheba - car , train , bus.
Car - always the best option - the road is very easy to drive.
Bus - from Tel aviv you can take a 1.5 hours drive with Egged , line 370 from central station and it will cost you 15nis.
Train - You can use the train from tel aviv (merkaz station) it will take you 1.5 hours and it will cost you 25 nis for one direction
Be aware there much desert. Most intercity roads are dual-lane with little overtaking possibilities. Beware a camels and the heat.
If you want to climb to Masada you can enjoy a route called snake path , this is the route of the old times.
It can take you 2-3 hours to climb.
We choose this hotel for a 2 nights stay in Eilat and it turned out that this was a very good...more
