Kayaking on the Jordan River....lush green landscape, beautiful water, perfect for the beginner. The booming sound you hear will not be thunder, it is actually artillery fire being shot off toward Syria. It is not talked about, but artillery is shot off daily toward Syria. Such an odd combination, the peaceful scenery, easy water to canoe and yet the constant sound of unrest. You are safe, however, taking this sports activity, and it is highly recommended!

 Israel bike trail - the yarkon

Near Petah Tikva , the place i live , there is part of the trail that leads to Rosh Ha'ayin , Hod hasharon and another trail that leads to Tel aviv and the beach (and you pass Ramat gan and Ha'yarkon park and river).

To enter the beach you should pay 25 NIS for an adult or 10 NIS if you already paid for entering the park.
After 18:00 it is free but no Lifeguard.

There are a lot of places to ride , even near the major cities - the Yarkon near Tel aviv , Bet Oren near haifa and many more.
