In this place Jonah was swallowed by a whale, and remained there for three days and three nights, and Adromeda was saved by Perseus from the sea monster. Walk around, it is old and it looks like this. Don't forget to take a picture of Tel Aviv, the port is the best spot to do so. Leave a Comment

This Roman Catholic church was built over the ruins of Crusader Citadel and it has a very unique interior design. Its monastery was visited by Napoleon in 1799. Last renovated in 1903 it is still one of the most beauutiful churches in Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Inside you'll find vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and marble walls. Amazing! You can visit St. Peter's Church between 8am -noon and 3pm-5pm everyday Leave a Comment

This is the small museum located in the middle of Old Jaffa. It has a little archaeological site and some explainations about the history of Jaffa, that goes back to Greek mythology. Can't say that it is something very special but it is interesting. Untill not so long ago admission used to be free but now it looks like this tip should be moved to the "Tourists Trap" section. Nowadays, for 10 minutes in the museum you'll have to pay 8 Shekels (about $2).
Interesting information about Napoleon in Jaffa. Leave a Comment

A walk along the beach or the promenade running the full 5 kms along the city beaches to Jaffa is a must. Leave a Comment

Walking in the narrow streets of old Yafo is actually something you have to do when you're here. This quarter is also called 'artist's centre' because of the many artists who live here. Besides this there are a lot of small shops, bakery's and eating-houses. What I also liked about these alleys were the street-signs. Not the ordinary signs such as we know. No, these signs were very artistic. Maybe created by the artists who live here. Leave a Comment

When you arrive in Yafo you can see a big statue of a whale. This statue is for the honour of Jonah, who started to travel in Yafo. During his travels he was swallowed by a whale (actualy it is a big fish). Leave a Comment

Sunrise in Old Jaffa. Far in the distance you can see the slender tower of the Russian church. According to the Christian tradition the grave cavern under it belongs to Tabita who was raised from dead by Petrous. Leave a Comment

Following the promenade you will see this map of Jaffa where they show you the history of Jaffa. But the best is the great views of Tel Aviv from this point, so we could not resist the photo, and I have to say we waited until another group finished theirs LOL Leave a Comment
