The basel set is a slightly older, more sedate crowd than Allenby/Shenkin (friends will kill me if they read this!) with a number of cafes centred round the square. North Tel Aviv residential, hence a slighly more suburban feel to the place but still a trendy area and Friday mornings the place is heaving with artists/actors etc. Not the greatest fan of the area, but if I go, then Cafe Basel is my personal preference.
