    One of my favorit places in TA, its Location is wonderful, just on the beach between TA and Jaffa more towards Jaffa. The view is fantastic, you have all jaffa and the sea infront of you or to the other side TA shoreline. They have tables either on the terrace or inside, but in any case its not crowded and you have planty of room between one table to another. the restaurant is well decorated and the feeling there is really nice. They have a great Local salads for opening and lovely meals to offer. One of the Lovely things to do is to enjoy your breakfast there with either French Israeli or British style breakfast. Also they have a fresh Squized juices which is personally something that i adore ! Ohhh what a great way to start a free day :-)

    Ohhhhh too many things are my favourit, the Juices, breakfasts, sea food, the warm yemmenite bread that is served etc'... darn.. im getting hungry just thinking of it now :-)

  • Located right on the beach. Open to the elements during the summer (a welcome sea breeze straight off the Med), this tastefully decorated restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike. Discrete lighting, oceans of space (they do not cram the tables in to the large floor space) and if you get a table either on the terrace or next to the window, the sea appears to break under your feet.

    Fish! But also prepare yourself for the salads at the beginning of the meal. Wonderful variation on the traditional regional starters. Rough-cut humus, red peppers with Bulgarian (ie salty) cheese, fish-cakes, carpaccio of grouper, and many more served with Yemenite bread and rock salt. Just point at the ones you want as the waiter brings a giant tray over to your table (but don't overdo them!) Does great breakfasts too - Israeli, English or French.

    Manta Ray is a nice restaurant located on the beach very close to Jaffa. Although it is not looks like a great restaurant from outside , it is very comfortable and nice inside with a very good service , tasty food (and not too expensive) and of course the sea view that makes the food taste better. You will find here nice breakfast , sea food , good cocktails and more.

    The potatoe and onion Frittata (a type of Italian omelette) was very good , the breakfast is tasty and served with 2 eggs as you wish , bread , spread , orange juice and coffee/tea.

    The quintessential beach restaurant, Manta is an open-air pavilion where you could have a Sangria (beware in Israel its served hot), a beer or a glass of wine with a selection of nibbles/ appetizers while enjoying the view.

    Okay okay okay. So I was traveling on my client’s expense budget and it was a nuts' freezing Sunday night. As Bono often sang about Tel Aviv in November… “Sunday, Bloody Cold Sunday”, simultaneously Adam bashed heck out of the (sea) bass in the background. The Manta Ray is not cheap. It is, however, extremely good food - and the wine list isn’t bad either. The starters are amazing, all the dips you used to get in Sainsbury when they started copying the Marks & Spencer in Brent Cross. Now we (me and client) made the mistake of going overboard on the starters too early and overfilling for the mains. (Client was an Ozzie client so excuse my mix of local dialects.) The scallops and mushrooms were just brilliant. In fact all the seafood was excellent – Mr. Client had some fish out of the Med and that looked fine for a Sunday night. AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT? On the wine list is an amazing set of whites and reds from the Golan Heights. Yeah, right on. They even let me take the bottle home to soak the labels off as a souvenir. Oh how I am so easily satisfied in life. And this little act cheered up Mr. “I Market Instant Noodles in The Middle East” no end.

    It was November when we were there. The rain was coming horizontally in from the Med and the wind was howling. Howling? …it was WAILING. Fair play to staff, they were taking pictures of the punters outside in the rain and wind. Hair all over the place. Nice work waitlasses. I’d describe the Manta Ray as one of those restaurants you’d visit with your partner mid vacation for a cheer up and as prep for a bit of the old mattress aerobics with Mrs. V.T. which we all need after we’ve put up with two kids of five and seven. Alternatively, it could be described as one of those places to go on your last night in Tel Aviv as a memorable end and reward for haggling down taxi fares so well in Old Jerusalem City the previous week.
