The Tel Aviv coastline by mafi_moya For many tourists (and a fair few locals) Tel Aviv begins at the shore of the Mediterranean and ends about 100 metres inland. The beach is the centre of activity from the early morning joggers to the late night parties. In between, thousands of people sunbathe, swim and just generally have a good time. The beach is one long continuous stretch across the length of the city, but if you're there a while you'll soon work out which areas are most popular with young people, families and so on. Along parts of the main road it's a bit like walking through LA - palm trees, teeny-weeny bikinis and lots of glamorous bronzed people everywhere. Like me for instance! Tel-Aviv sun set by Gili_S Because of the mild winter and surely the hot summers it is almost always possible to walk by the beautiful beach. Late evenings as the sun set can be just a perfect time to take a walk after all your business meetings and before attending a delighted dinner in one of the many great restaurants of this city. Rabin Square by Gili_S This is a large square in Tel-Aviv, it is by the city hall, nice place to take a break in the warm spring sunshine. Lots of demonstrations are held here, many demonstrations against war and supporting the peace was held here, in one of them, the Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin got shot and murdered by a Jewish extremist. Since then, lots of people lost the hope for peace in the Middle East. Leave a Comment Address: Even Gvirol St. (By the city hall)

by Nathalie_B It used to be called Square of Kings of Israel until the November 4th 1995. On this day the Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was murdered by an Israeli fanatic. None of us will ever forget this day, neither we'll forget the man who got us so close to the peace in the Middle East. Right after the murder people started writing on the walls about their pain and tears. And somebody simply wrote "Rabin Square". Few days later the Square was officialy named after the greatest Peace Maker of Israel Leave a Comment Address: Even Gvirol St. (By the city hall)

by Nathalie_B Once you'll see a sunset in Tel Aviv you'll have to admit that you even't seen anything more beautiful than this! Maybe I'm being biased, but I've been living there for the most of my life and can assure you that this is the, number one, must see activity of the city! Don't miss it. Well, you won't be able to. by Nathalie_B When they started buiding the Azrieli Center, in 1996, many of us thought that it's gonna be an ugly construction which will spoil the image of the city, being too high. Today we have higher buildings and Azrieli is the most popular one so far. It consist of two towers triangular and circular ones. The third one, square shaped, is growing and almost reached the height of it's neighbors. As soon as it's finished I'll update this tip. Azrieli Center has a huge shoping mall with many shops, restaurants and a movie theater. Many offices and conference rooms are found there as well. But the biggest attraction of the Center is the Israel's tallest observation deck from which you get a beautiful view on Tel Aviv and its surroundings. Leave a Comment Address: Derech Petach Tikva St.Directions: There's a train Stop just behind the Builidngs as well.

Carmel Market by mafi_moya The Carmel Market runs alongside the Yemenite Quarter and offers a livelier shopping experience than the usual air-conditioned supermarkets and high street stores that dominate the rest of the city. Large crowds make their way along the street past the dozens of stalls from very first thing in the morning. Sweet-smelling bakeries, exotic fruits and spices, and fresh carcasses hanging from butcher's hooks mix with counterfeit designer clothes and electronic toys. The crumbling old buildings and dark narrow lanes, covered by tarpaulins, make for an atmospheric place to visit. This is as close as Tel Aviv gets to the traditional image of the exotic Middle Eastern souk - loud, lively, colourful and a melting pot of smells, sounds and sights. It's fairly small, with one main street and numerous small alleyways and sidestreets running off it. To be honest, if you've been to souks or markets anywhere else in the Middle East (or Africa or Asia for that matter) this is likely to be a bit dull and disappointing. It's not really that lively, nor is it that interesting or exotic. But then I suppose everything is relative and compared to the rest of modern Tel Aviv this is probably as 'exotic' as you'll find! Leave a Comment Directions: HaCarmel Street, at the junction of Allenby and Sheinkin Streets
