by Zoharit this the first Jewish neighbourhood that was built in Tel Aviv (on the border with Jaffa). its buildings are old but well-saved, and it is today an artist quarter. 0f course many families live there as well, but it is hard to ignore the so many galleries around, the art shops, the creative atmosphere. It is very recommended to walk the streets of the neighbourhood and just enjoy the architecture and the great atmosphere, especially on a friday afternoon. by Zoharit this is a great place to pass a friday afternoon. its been a tradition of a several years now: every Friday on the beach next to the 'Dolphinarium', musicians come to play and have a good time. the most dominant instrument you will see is the 'darbuka' (the arabic drum) but people come there with any instrument that makes any sound! so people are gathered there from everywhere: old and young, locals and tourists, childrens and families.... anyone is welcomed to sit and enjoy or play himself. Around the circle of musicians, many people dance or light up a fire. dont miss this when youre in Tel Aviv! Leave a Comment Address: on the beach, between Jaffa and Tel AvivDirections: a walk from the 'opera tower' (Alenby st. 1)

Jaffa - Andromeda's Rock by ophiro The andromeda rock is a story taken from the greek mythology. The legend says that andromeda was the beautiful daughter of a queen called Cassiopeia and a king called Cepheus. The queen , Cassiopeia , claimed that she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than the sea nymphs. Poseidon (the god of sea) was very mad with her so he sent big waves to flood the land. The king consulted the wise oracle and he told him to sacrifice his daughter to the god of sea. Andromeda was chained to the the rocks in front of jaffa and Perseus (a greek hero) saw her and saved her (the power of love). The legend says that the hero killed the monster Poseidon sent and now the remains of the monster are the rocks. Leave a Comment
