    Al Keznah

If you are visiting the ancient nabatean village of Petra, you can't miss the Al Keznah.
You have to enter the area trough the so called "Siq", a narrow canyon washed out of the colorful stone of the region. The first attraction, right at the exit of the canyon will be the Keznah. In English it is called the treasury. The name is deceptives, as the building served as a tomb in the past.
The entiriour is not as beautiful as the exterior. It consists only in a rectangular room carved out of the rock. But you should have a look at the beautiful, incredible colors of the stone!

    The Khazneh

The Khazneh is one of the most impressive and most famous of Petra monuments.
This 40 m high temple tomb, entirely carved in the stone, is very well preserved and most tourists just stand astonished for minutes in front of it. As with most Petra monuments, the interiors are nothing special with respect to the magnificent facades.

The Treasury is Petra's most famous site. And rightly so. After walking in the narrow siq, suddenly it appears with all its glory.

    The dog was named Indiana.

Definitely the most well known spot in all of Petra (thank you Indiana Jones). It is also the first major piece of Petra that you will see after walking from the gate and through Al-Siq.

Me at the Siq's end, with Treasury at the back

After walking the 2 kilometres along the spectacular siq, you come across with the Treasury. That first impression .... I think I won't forget it for the rest of my life.
