Fondest memory: Wadi rum is a incredible experience. Never realized how the moon was so illuminating...What I missing at most? Well ...the silence, the vastness, the rising & setting sun.., at the horizon of the red sand dunes.

Fondest memory:
I thought that this was so cool when I saw them! Wild Camels, just roaming the desert! Imagine....I never actually thought that I would see something like this in my life.....This only lasted a few minuted before we rode on on our camels....but I thought that this was amazing!

Favorite thing: Unless you are planning on doing some scrambling or serious hiking, sandals are plenty good enough. They are fine when riding a camel or riding a jeep, and you will get sand in your shoes anyway, you might as well have an easy way of getting them out again.

If you are hiking then good trekking sandals are ideal. See note above about getting sand out of your shoes.

You can also wear trainers, but just for walking or riding they are hot and get sweaty very quickly. They are good for easy scrambling though.

Fondest memory: In any case you should have with you a pair of sandals for relaxing in the evenings or over lunch. It gives your other shoes a chance to dry out a bit! Thong sandals are ideal here, light and easy to put into a rucksack.

Favorite thing: An excellent book is "Treks & Climbs in Wadi Rum" by Tony Howard.

I would recommend anyone going to Wadi Rum independently to read this. As well as treks it has some amazing items on rock climbing the Jebels & photos

Favorite thing: Wadi Rum is so vast & has such an empty feel. Its not often one feel quite so insignificant in the great scheme of things.

The Jebels feel relatively close together until you walk from one to the other & they seem to get further away !

Fondest memory: My Birthday Night is obviously my favourite memory of my time at Wadi Rum.
