One of the public gardens in Aqaba by TheWanderingCamel Cheap and cheerful is the word for this restaurant. It serves filafel, hommous, fool, omelettes and salad and not all that much else. It is usually crowded by locals grabbing a quick bite before rushing off to do something, while the seats are all taken by men either reading the paper or playing backgammon! In other words it is full of local colour! If it is too noisy for you, there is a "family room" upstairs, where ladies can sit quietly. the service, I add, isn't all that marvellous up here, it is a good idea to leave your order at the counter downstaires before you climb up. If you just want a filafel sandwich, take it and eat it in the garden near the fountain on the other side of the road. There are lots of seats in the shade Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Al-Hammamet al-Tunisieh StreetDirections: There are a whole lot of banks in this street, also the local office for Trust International Buses. It's close to the Pizza Hut and the big hotels.

by TheWanderingCamel Alongside the public beach there is a whole series of small restaurants. They mostly serve local food but also the (local version of) hamburgers and so on. There are no special recommendations, they change owners and cooks fairly often. But it is great fun eating beside the sea - especially in the evening - and getting one's feet splashed by an occasional wave. Leave a Comment

Aqaba cafe by freya_heaven This is a typical locals cafe in Aqaba. Actually this photo could have been taken anywhere in Jordan, as they all pretty much look like this. It was very unusual to see any Jordainian women in the cafes we visited, which was a shame, Would have been nice to have a chat!

Marhaban, In Aqaba, on Share' Hammamat-at-Tunisiyya, there is famous restaurant called Ali Baba. Try the seafood, local (and egyptian) barbecue in this restaurant. The food was excellent.

Ali Baba's is in the center of the beach area and is well known. The main shopping district is nearby too. We had the grilled shrimp with olive oil and garlic and others had the kabobs. Everything was very tasty. They bring you salads, olives, pickles, flat bread and hummus. They also serve ice cold beer here. We had Amstel. The service was excellent and no rushing you. Does get busy around 8:00 pm

The mese's were very good, the chicken soup was excellant (they put cheese in it) but we also ordered a kilo of "mixed grill".... it wasn't done... none of it, the kebab, chicken nor meat and they charged us 51 JD for it!! That is about 70US! They had nice shisha, nice atmosphere, but don't order the kebab!

by Sambawalk I had dinner in the balcony of this Al-Shami restaurant. The price is very reasonable, soup, appet, main course and cafe for around JD4-5. The menu has English and it offers nice view. It locates in a lane between Raghadan and Zahran street. There is abig English menu outside, so you should not miss it. Leave a Comment
