Place of High Sacrafice, Petra

1 Review  Very much worth the hike. We climbed up the "winding staircase" on a rainy/cloudy day and had this site at the top of the valley to our selves for nearly an hour. Amazing view! Check out the locals...

1 Review  I mean it, it is 1,000 steps - not a bad idea to mount a mule for this climb as it is long and tiring. You get the feeling along the way that you are on a pilgrimmage of some sort as the people going...

Umm Quais

by mardaska

Umm Quais is one of Jordan' s most unique Greco-Roman Decapolis sites. Greeks, Romans , Byzantines and Ottomans settled here and left own marks. From the hillside , Umm Quais offers a beautiful panoramic view on the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberius) and the Golan Mountains.

Wadi Dhana Nature reserve

by Gurry

Dana has one of the most beautiful and unspoiled mountain landscapes in Jordan, and a spectacular village perched on the edge of a deep and precipitous gorge, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon. It is rich in wildlife and one of the best places to watch birds, especially during Spring and Autumn migrations. There is a wide variety of hiking trails, from short, one-hour circuits to day-hikes requiring an overnight stop. All trails offer spectacular views and rock formations and some pass important archaeological sites, including the ancient copper mining centre of Feinan. The campsites and guest house are equally in spectacular locations and are places to relax and enjoy the scenery and peace and quiet. Shuttle buses provide transport to the campsites and there is a visitor centre where you can see local crafts being made. Trained guides are available for all tours. The reserve lies 200...

Well it is a great place in Amman,I won't say it is a Citadel as the ruins are presenting the Umayyad Palace and a modern museum and some Fundaments of Roman Temple ruins.but should say it worth the visit as it is great.

The Dead Sea

by AldenM1

The Dead Sea is so beautiful from a distance. On very rare days it is crystal clear and you can see Jerusalem from this spot. Usually it's hazy, though. The black bags in the foreground are omnipresent in Jordan. You get them in every single shop, and then they blow around the country aimlessly. We called them the national bird!
