queen halia dutyfree shop: harak haddad

It's easier to buy alcohol at the airport, since it's never clear which shops are allowed to sell alcohol in Jordan arak haddad ia a jordan aniseed-flavoured spirit that should be drunk with water and ice. I can't say I liked it, but since it's my friend's family who produces it, at least I should recommend it about 15-20 JD

Jordan River Designs: olive oil soap

it's a local arts and craft shop sponsored by Save the Children. All the proceeds go to the women who produce the items. jordan river soaps - tiny green soaps made of pure olive oil. about 3 JD for a small soap

Dead Sea Hotels: Dead Sea Bath Salts

These bath salts and products can be bought everywhere in Jordan, but the largest selection is obviously at the hotels on the dead sea bath salts, dead dea mud, and creams it depends. bath salts about 2 JD, mud about 5 JD, creams can be very expensive

it's produced at the monastery of mount nebo. In case you are not going there, you can find this wine at the duty-free of the airport, too mount nebo wine: there are two sorts, red wine and white wine about 7 JD a bottle

normally you find them in souqs a Keffiyeh is a typical Arab bi-coloured headress - I saw them in two variations: Palestinian (black and white) or Jordanian (red and white). They can be turned into scarves when back home about 3 jordanian dollars (after some bargaining)

The best place to buy souvenirs is Amman. It's a lot cheaper than the more touristic Aqaba.Go downtown, and you find lots of shops where you can buy all kind of souvenirs. nargile (or water pipe)arabic clothes (kofiah)bottle of araq you can spend as much as you like
