Al-Fanar mall (Salem Al-Mubarak St, Salmiya)has my favourite movie theatre The seats are stadium style so noone's beehive get in your view. They also have Zara, Mango, B & O, MAC, Godiva, Tiffany, Gucci, River Island, Claire's to name a few of the shops. There is a great mix of variety. There is great steak place called Entrecote too. Al-Fanar is a bright building which is very well kept. Here you can also find Lenotre and Dalyou restaurants. However I like to go for the steak and the movies.
Malls to skip over: Al-Bustan, Laila Gallery, Galleria 2000, Central Paza(All on Salem Al-Mubarak St, Salmiya).

Soug Sharq is a mellow place to go during the week but gets quite crowded on the weekends. Debanhams and Sultan Center are the anchor stores and are located at either ends of the mall. In between you will find lots of fun shopping for both adults and kids. River Island, Next, Boots, Milano, Hassan Optics, Athletes Foot, Nokia, Zara, Charles Jourdan, Oasis, Faith, Anotah, Fantasy (the only good toy shop in Kuwait), Kenneth Cole, IKKS, Sony, GNC, Mothercare, Steps (shoes), Body shop, Choice, Monsoon, Taher (womens underwear), International Optics, and Adams some of the name brand stores you'll find. Bredz (they have great salads and deserts) and Marina Cafe are two good restaurants if you feel like some food. You can also find all the usual food court stuff like McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Hardees, Marina Thai (not really Thai at all, nasty-tastes like low quality chinese,) and I think they just added TGIF. Starbucks and Haagan Daz are great for people watching. There is a movie theatre but it is not stadium style like most of the new ones in Kuwait so I dont recommend it. They also have an amusement arcade to keep the little ones busy. Souk Sharq is my all time favourite mall in Kuwait. There is something for everyone.

Villa Moda is a shoppers paradise. It is a huge big glass building which houses individual designer boutiques. The brands with boutiques are Fendi, Prada, Prada Sport, Etro, Ferragamo, Marni, Dolce & Gabanna, and Gucci. The is also a section called multibrand where you will find all sorts of interesting clothes to max out your cards. There is a great concept called jeans bar where you find the collest up to date saught after things like Victoria Beckham jeans, Rock & Republic, True Religion to name a few. I also saw a lot of funky looking Indian style stuff. Here there is also Juicy for ladies and girls. Villa Moda also has an amazing sale section. Its on the top floor. It is like you found the designer sale black hole. Throughout the year they do promotions up there too which really makes it a desinger treasure trove. If you like a bargain be prepared to spend hours up there.

Of course Kuwaitis have big "Souks" or shopping malls airconditioned where you can find all the international brands ( no fake ones) but I always prefer to walk around the bazaars that you can feel the local people.Dates are important products of the country. You can have the best examples of the arab peninsula
What to buy: Dates

This is a huge supermarket-type ishh place. There are a couple of locations around Kuwait, I visited 2. One was in Al-Shuwaikh area and the other was in the Sharq Mall. This "supermarket" was much better than the other available because of the diversity of the products available. Mostly American. All things here arent available any where else in Kuwait (i Was told). Many products I brought home with me. I advise this to people who r going 2 live in this country and people who r living here but havent visited it. (Hard to believe since the country is to fingers wide..) =)
WaterLemon
What to pay: Depends ..

In 2003 a Missile Struck Sharq mall, heading from Iraq (headed by former president Saddam Hussain). No serious casualties.
This is a very popular Multi level shopping mall, with alot of restaurants, boutiques, shops, a marina, a Cinema etc. You can spend a whole day in here.
What to pay: You will not spend less than KD 5 - I'm assuming you'll at least have coffee there :-)
