by pangtidor You can bring the heaviest bags which are allowed in the airport. When you are in the airport, you will just only carry your things from the bagage claim to the troley. Some porters will help you to lift the things on security check. When a porter will offer you to push your troley, beware! They could charge you more than 500fills and try to cheat you for everything. You can find the troley everywhere in the airport so just refuse any porters if you are able to push your troley because sometimes the airport porters could be annoying ones.DONT BRING ALCOHOL AND PORK HERE.They could check your bagage if you bring many disks or medicines.
Good sunglasses is a must here, especially on summer time.Girls should not wear any shorts in public or two pieces at the public beach,or else you will be a superstar and be watched and followed or even raped by everybody here.Using umbrella on day time is considered as an unshameful thing to do here. For ladies, if u love make up, Kuwait will be your paradise. Kuwaities ladies like heavy make up and blackish sluty eye make up is a trend here.
Bring sunblock with SPF 15+,moisturizing body lotion, lipgloss, and vaseline.
Bring camera and videocam but do not shoot the ladies with abbaya(long black dress with head or and face cover),king`s palace, oil companies, and inside the shoping malls.
It is dangerous for ladies to camp here. The best weather of the year will be in March, April, September, and October so bring your beach gear on that time. Winter time is month of November to February, temperature is ranged from 40-60 F. May to August is summer time and the temperature will be more than 100F. Sandstorm may come several time in a year.
You can find everything in Kuwait in big grocery stores such as Sultan Center and City Center.Although alcohol and pork are prohibited here, you can find them secretly when you are desperate enough to get it.The married couple with seperated passports or using maid name should bring the marriage certificate copy as some hotels will ask you that. Drug trafficking is a big crime here. The sentence is only one for that: death sentence (be hung in public).

by Jim70563 Lockable bags are a must. Be prepared to OPEN all your bags for customs upon retrieving them from the baggage carousel. (Another member wrote that you cannot have lockable bags...I lived in Germany when I wrote that, and last time I flew from Germany to the Middle East (2005), I was able to have locked luggage (checked in). Perhaps this is mainly a US thing, not allowing locked luggage? Your mileage will vary..if not allowed, do NOT put valuables in the checked in bags).
Bring boots if going to the sand. Bring comfortable shoes or sandles if walking in town. I would strongly suggest that you do not wear short pants or skirts if going downtown to shop or dine out. In winter, you will be amazed, I actually wore a light wind breaker. It actually became quite chilly.
Anything you need can be purchased in a supermarket or picked up at a local Pharmacy. Kuwait imports everything you could need.
Bring a camera. Keep it with you. You will be driving or walking along, and then you will see something that is in the right place, in the right light. Kuwait is full of these types of moments. APS film, digital storage media, etc... are all available in the Sharq Souk or any other photo supply.
If you are going to drive, bring whatever religious text and/or holy objects you wish to have when you die. Seriously, I have been to many countries where the drivers are called the worlds "Worst". The drivers here make them look like underachievers. Leave a Comment

by morgandk Everything you can carry.
Cotton, go the native way and cover as much skin as possible. Not a place to seek a tan.
Sunscreen, toilet paper (rare item).
Stake your tent deep, the winds will whip it into Yemen. Leave a Comment

by Rob_Kelley Bring all the freakin' sun block you got! See this beach, there is a reason it is empty, everybody on the beach melted. (also because it's full of crude oil) Leave a Comment

Kuwait temperatures vary from 55c down to 9c in the winter evenings. It rarely rains but when it does watch out. If you are traveling in the summer months, make sure to pack light weight clothing but remember not too revealing. Bathing suits are worn at the poolside of all major hotels. If you like to dress up ladies this is the place for it. You will not feel out of place with your fancy cloths for an evening dinner. Sand is everywhere so if you do not like sand in your shoes remember to bring closed toed shoes. If you visit in the winter months the temps range from 18c during the day to as low as 8-9c at night. A light jacket and sweater will do nicely since you will most likely not be doing much walking.
Remember to bring bathroom tissue when out. There is often no tissue in the public bathrooms. Better yet go before you leave the house. The bathrooms in the major restaurants are nice but you will not want to experience one at the local souk. Take my word for it go before you leave or hold it if you are shopping in the souk.
Bring your camera as there is lots of nice pictures to be taken. Remember do not take pictures of the ladies unless permission is given.
Wear your shoes on the beach and in the water at all times. Not only are there sea urchins and stone fish but one might have to make a trip to the hospital with rusty metal or glass in the foot if no shoes are worn. Be warned.
No alocohol or pork products allowed in Kuwait. If you are traveling with medications that might be questionable like narcotics make sure to have the meds in the origonal container or better yet have a doctors note. Leave a Comment

Ordinary stuff is Okay. The airport is modern so roll aboards are fine too.
Kuwait is blistering hot and sweltering humid in the summer. I found that wearing underarmor tee shirts and skivvies was one of the keys to staying cool. It wicks away moisture so you don't have that damp, sweaty feeling that goes with heavy summers.
You can get anything you need at one of the many pharmacies (drugs) or toiletries at the Sultan Center. ( Big Grocery Store)
Only a masochist would camp here.
If you are an XL or above size in the US or Europe you better stock up on clothes. You won't find much at all your size, if anything. When you do find XXL once you open it you get one of two thinkgs. It is either really a L or it is going to shrink to be an L. Either way, you just wasted money. Leave a Comment
