Hik.No alcohol and pork please

by pangtidor

You can bring the heaviest bags which are allowed in the airport. When you are in the airport, you will just only carry your things from the bagage claim to the troley. Some porters will help you to lift the things on security check. When a porter will offer you to push your troley, beware! They could charge you more than 500fills and try to cheat you for everything. You can find the troley everywhere in the airport so just refuse any porters if you are able to push your troley because sometimes the airport porters could be annoying ones.DONT BRING ALCOHOL AND PORK HERE.They could check your bagage if you bring many disks or medicines. Good sunglasses is a must here, especially on summer time.Girls should not wear any shorts in public or two pieces at the public beach,or else you will be a superstar and be watched and followed or even raped by everybody here.Using umbrella on day time is...

UnderArmor!

by american_tourister

Ordinary stuff is Okay. The airport is modern so roll aboards are fine too. Kuwait is blistering hot and sweltering humid in the summer. I found that wearing underarmor tee shirts and skivvies was one of the keys to staying cool. It wicks away moisture so you don't have that damp, sweaty feeling that goes with heavy summers. You can get anything you need at one of the many pharmacies (drugs) or toiletries at the Sultan Center. ( Big Grocery Store) Only a masochist would camp here. If you are an XL or above size in the US or Europe you better stock up on clothes. You won't find much at all your size, if anything. When you do find XXL once you open it you get one of two thinkgs. It is either really a L or it is going to shrink to be an L. Either way, you just wasted money.

If you forgot it, you can buy it here

Lockable bags are a must. Be prepared to OPEN all your bags for customs upon retrieving them from the baggage carousel. (Another member wrote that you cannot have lockable bags...I lived in Germany when I wrote that, and last time I flew from Germany to the Middle East (2005), I was able to have locked luggage (checked in). Perhaps this is mainly a US thing, not allowing locked luggage? Your mileage will vary..if not allowed, do NOT put valuables in the checked in bags). Bring boots if going to the sand. Bring comfortable shoes or sandles if walking in town. I would strongly suggest that you do not wear short pants or skirts if going downtown to shop or dine out. In winter, you will be amazed, I actually wore a light wind breaker. It actually became quite chilly. Anything you need can be purchased in a supermarket or picked up at a local Pharmacy. Kuwait imports everything you could...

Heavy jacket and a raincoat in winter and sun block in summer... WINTER---(November to May) Winter could be very cold and wet, day time temps could drop to about 10c, 0c/-1c/-2c at night with alot of wet days..Summer---(June to mid September) Summer could be as hot as 45c but could get cool at night in the north...Mid September to the end of October is half-half (: You could find everything in Kuwait! You should take a camera! No beach for sure in winter, camping is good in winter but beware of frostbites and getting wet! the best time to visit Kuwait is from december to march...

Everything you can carry. Cotton, go the native way and cover as much skin as possible. Not a place to seek a tan. Sunscreen, toilet paper (rare item). Stake your tent deep, the winds will whip it into Yemen.

Kuwait temperatures vary from 55c down to 9c in the winter evenings. It rarely rains but when it does watch out. If you are traveling in the summer months, make sure to pack light weight clothing but remember not too revealing. Bathing suits are worn at the poolside of all major hotels. If you like to dress up ladies this is the place for it. You will not feel out of place with your fancy cloths for an evening dinner. Sand is everywhere so if you do not like sand in your shoes remember to bring closed toed shoes. If you visit in the winter months the temps range from 18c during the day to as low as 8-9c at night. A light jacket and sweater will do nicely since you will most likely not be doing much walking. Remember to bring bathroom tissue when out. There is often no tissue in the public bathrooms. Better yet go before you leave the house. The bathrooms in the major restaurants are...

Take a day bag with a change of clothes. It's a long way from any where. Light clothing. They say it gets up to 150 F during the summer. I was there in December. Never wore a jacket. Always care toilet paper. Some bathrooms do not have toilet paper, just a hose. Take power converters. You can upload your digital pics at the business center in the hotel. Internet access in not readly available. You need to use the equipment in the hotel business center.

Bring all the freakin' sun block you got! See this beach, there is a reason it is empty, everybody on the beach melted. (also because it's full of crude oil)
