Al Boom: Don't forget your free ship's nail

by american_tourister

This is a unique restaurant in design, location, theme and format. It is located inside the SAS Radisson complex which like many other high end hotels in Kuwait has an armed security force and vehicle inspection before you enter. Once you park your massive American made SUV in the parking spots made for a Suzuki Jeep you walk a 100 meters or so until you see a big ol' dhow sitting inside a breakwater. The dhow is the Al Boom and it is the world's largest dhow. Now keep in mind that a dhow is a coastal craft and is not suited for the high seas. It has a shallow draft and rolls like a seashell in the surf. This one was built for ceremonial purposes but it makes a really cool restaurant. You go inside and they sit you at a table that has a number. You take the menu card they provide and literally check off the number of the meal you want whether it is Hammour (Grouper), steak, chicken, etc....

Mugal Mahal: Best Indian in Town

by RKicF8

The atmosphere is nice. It is quiet and less crowded than Aysha's (which is located in the Avenues). Its more authentic than the atmosphere at Aysha's which is more trendy and you have to wait forever. They have a doorman dressed in what I assume is authentic Indian garb to great you. The service is always good. I can't think of a time we have ever had a problem. The food is always good. If you have tried the only at Marina Mall keep this in mind: Kuwait City's level of spice is lower than Marinas. We usually ask for medium when we are at Kuwait Citys and mild when we are at the one one in the food court of Marina. The chicken korma with the creamy cashew sause is my familys favorite item on the menu. We usually have to order a couple just to satisfy everyone. When we leave the country it is always the chicken korma we crave because we just can't find it anywhere else.

Mughal Mahal - Multiple outlets: Great Indian food

by jet64

Excellent quality for the price. I had a chicken sizzler dish, the Murg Tikka Khandhari with nan and suffron rice. It was outstounding but ordered it extra spicy and broke a sweat though wasn't overly hot but tasted wonderful with lots of veggies.

CAESARS RESTAURANT: Greasy and Floury

by pangtidor

It is an Indian/Chinese/Arabic/Continental cuisine, has many branches of restaurants and confectioneries in Kuwait. Few of the branches were vegetarian restaurants before. It has good and clean atmosphere within the neighborhood. I went to dine in for several times, tried some new menus but I could not get the real good taste. The food is mostly greasy and they tried to pump up an amount of the portion with some fried flour. We have to wait for 30-40 minutes from the order time to the service time. The confectioneries are average; I like the fruit cake though. I experience these in their Hawally and Kuwait city branches, I am not sure if you will get the same experiences in their other branches too. Opening hour is 12Noon to 3PM and 0630PM to 1130PM.

Sakura - Crowne Plaza Hotel: Sushi Special

by chizz

The restaurant is popular for the Friday Brunch when there is an all-you-can-eat buffet for around 9 dinars pp (£18 approx.). This includes a large selection of sushi, hot dishes and tempanyaki with fruit salad for dessert. Drinks are extra. The restaurant has a modern vibe with soft lighting. They also do special 2 for 1 deals at certain times of the day. Service can be slow at times but the food is great. Teriyaki chicken and most of the sushi maki rolls.

Sorry - don't know!: Good Local Food

by Hexepatty

I wish I could tell you the name, the address or what we ate. We just know it was pretty darn good and cheap. 3 ate for $9.00! See? You don't have to eat at Subway or Applebees or McDonalds while in Kuwait. Find a Local Eatery! We ordered chicken with potatoes plus hummos, meat pies & warm pita. Man, this place rocked. Everyone was polite and nice and didn't mind us pointing to others food and saying, "BRING US THAT!" Sorry I didn't get the name, folks! ; (

They even have APPLEBEES!: Don't Miss Western Influence!

by Hexepatty

You wouldn't starve here or miss western food. They have them all including Pizza hut and Burger king. Miracle these folks aren't as obese as US citizens. Well - wait. They could be. They all wear robes, after all... The Hash Browns were tasty! Came with my McDonald's breakfast value meal!

Al Marsa: Seafood Specialties

by MM212

Located at Le Méridien by the Gulf (no views though), Al Marsa restaurant is considered Kuwait's best seafood restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite local despite being at a hotel. The restaurant is great for lunch or dinner.

Burj al Hamam: Lebanese Food on the Waterfront

by MM212

The best Lebanese food in Kuwait can be found at Burj al-Hamam restaurant, and I would even say it's the best restaurant in Kuwait. It is located on the waterfront with panoramic views of the Gulf waters. This is a great experience where one could enjoy great food, scenic views, a good shisha and be able to dine alongside business groups, ladies' lunches and romantic couples. Burj al-Hamam is most recommended for lunch (for the views).

Watermelon: Snacks and a light meal

by MM212

Watermelon is a casual and trendy café located on the upper floor of the sleek Arraya Shopping Centre (attached to the Courtyard Marriott). Although the café is Lebanese owned and run, it does not offer Lebanese food. But the food is delicious nonetheless.
