Stores, Malls or Markets in Kuwait

It is located in the Avenues Mall, at the 5th Ring Road, New Riggae Area. It is one of the biggest department stores in Kuwait with the cheaper prices on the food and clothes items. It has the best deal for the cell phone during the special offer time. It has more cashiers so you will not be trapped in a long line. The other convenient thing to shop in the Carrefour is it is easy to reach the indoor parking lot with your shopping trolley.

Marina Mall is located at the Arabic Gulf Street at Salmiya area. Its interior design is one of the best ones for the malls. You may dine in at the Crescent side, can be reached by a bridge in front of Harley Davidson stand, at the book section of Virgin Megastore. See my things to do tips: Marina Crescent Side. There are more options for the food courts on the third floor. It has many fashion stores on the second floor, and the parking place will be on the ground floor.

The Avenues is the biggest mall of Kuwait for now, located at the intersection of 5th Ring Road and Gazali Street. Wear the comfortable shoes because this mall is huge, you may spend more hours inside. All of the international brand fashion stores will be available here and during the sale season the discount may reach to 75-80%. Many great restaurants located near the entrance and at the second floor. It has Carrefour for groceries and IKEA for the budget furniture. The cinema is the best in Kuwait and the parking lot is the biggest among the malls. The mall will be opened from 10AM to 1PM and 0430PM to 10PM and up to midnight during the weekend.

It is located on The Tunis Street, Hawally area, at the back of Hawally Park. Some used to call it as The Titanic Mall because the shape of this mall looks like a deck of the boat. It has many fitness centers on the top, good cafes, and some good brand stores. Good place to visit during the sale time because the place will not be too crowded like other malls.

It is nice to take home shisha pipes, arabian perfumes and incense and large brass coffee pots can be bought at the Friday Market. You can also have a custom made necklace with your name in arabic - the souq opp. Marina Mall made me one - best to get a rhodium plated necklace to go on it though as mine tarnished very quickly (as it was silver). Dates are excellent from Bateel (just outside Marina Mall - opp. Samsonite) but they are expensive.

What to pay: Bargain at the market

It is one of the best bookstores in Kuwait, located in Hawaly area on Tunis Street within the Hawaly Park. It is not only the bookstore, but also the place where you can get more options for stationery, school stuff for your kids, as well as the computers’. You may see some computer stores within Hawally area with the cheaper prices, but you will not get the same good assistance from their staff with the better customer services for any complains you may have.

Arraya Shopping Mall is located in the Sharq area of Kuwait City. It is attached to the Courtyard Marriot Hotel. This shopping centre is the most elegant in Kuwait City and has many of the most renowned fashion labels. It also has a few nice Cafés and restaurants.

Kuwait's latest addition to its shopping mall menu, The Avenues, is also its largest. In fact it is so large that it contains two Starbucks coffee shops! My preference, though, would be to have coffee and the more elegant Paul or le Pain Quotidien, both of which are present at The Avenues. The enormous shopping centre offers a wide selection of mid-range shops, such as Zara, Next, Debenhams or Ikea, with plenty more yet to open. Carrefour, the French supermarket chain, is attached to The Avenues. Bring your comfortable walking shoes!
